sir my father is very old- 78 yrs. he was misguided by bank employee and fooled to buy a policy of pnb metlife of premium of 1 lacs .My father received the policy after 15 days. the isuue date is 15 october and he rececived it todAY 2 Of November. He found policy details and information he was told is totally different. He is going to pnb tommorw. can he cancel the policy tommorow i.e 3 november. my concern is date of issue on policy is 15 the october. But it is totaly fraud. kindly give your advice .

The change is applicable for policy or policies issued after 1st Feb 2021, it provides for capital gains in case the premium paid for any year exceeds Rs 2.5 lakhs. Such policies will now be taxed at 10 per cent at maturity. So pls check date and Tax implications and accordingly you need to check with Insurer and your tax consultant.
