My dad is in his 60s and was diagnosed with it 2 years ago. He has progressively gotten worse and we recently had to put him in a memory care home. It’s devastating. He’s still so young, I’m having a hard time processing this as there was still so many “firsts” he wanted to experience: being a grandpa, enjoying retirement, etc. We need to not take our parents for granted at all. I know life gets busy, but spend as much time with them as you can because tomorrow is not always allot for us. The reality is we won’t have them forever. It’s sucks. 😢

What about nutrition?

I agree. Nutrition isn't talked about in relation to any diseases (cancer, diabetes, obesity, brain function, etc.). Big Farma and Big Pharma keep making money off of people's misery.

So what, I'm three months older than Bruce and I have had two heart attacks with two stents, been diagnosed with Lymphatic Leukemia and diabetes. How is he better than anyone of us?

U one of those people who expects people to feel sorry for you. Nobody thinks he is better. It’s your attitude and remarks that make u less of a person.

OMG, and with all of that you have to be a-hole? He is a major celebrity. They are bringing awareness to the disease. You too can go to the media and talk about your diagnoses. Nobody is stopping you. Do better!!

Who said he was better than you or any of us? When a well known celebrity gets diagnosed with an illness or condition, especially one that is not well understood, it brings awareness to that condition. People can learn about and understand it better, which in turns helps others who have that condition as well. Even more research can be done which can lead to better treatments, therapies, and support and perhaps even one day a cure. There is always some person who's life hasho it worse and maybe we have gone through a lot, but we shouldn't less empathy for others.

It's Alzheimer's .

No, it’s not Alzheimer’s. Alzheimer’s is a disease and dementia (Frontotemporal dementia, specifically) is a group of conditions characterized by loss of brain function in the part of your brain near your forehead or behind your ears. According to the Alzheimer’s Association, behavioral changes are often the first symptoms of frontotemporal dementia. Dementia is the term applied to a group of symptoms that negatively impact memory…. but Alzheimer’s is a specific progressive disease of the brain that slowly causes impairment in memory and cognitive function.

diifference between Ftd & alzheimer If there is shrinkage from the back side of the brain then it is called Alzheimer's. If there is shrinkage from the front of the brain then it is called frontotemporal dementia (bvFTD.)
