We love the gemination/twinning lesson! Midday (d in mid and d in day), Bookcase (k in book and c in case), and Lamppost (p in lamp and p in post) are great examples of the twinning of sounds! Thank you for the refresher

Thanks a lot! What about a sequence of plosives that are homorganic like "pub party" " book game" "mid time". Is it just a sequence in which the release of the second plosive is stronger than the first or can gemination be applied?

Could you suggest me tips on how to geminate these words. 1. Is she 2. likes shoes When an "S" sound changes to "SH" sound across words

Hello mam I have one doubt vowels have a long sound and short term and consonants also have a long and short sound...🤔🤔🤔
@BillieEnglish Жыл бұрын
Not in the same way as vowel sounds do, but we can say that in some incidences (as explain in my video) certain consonant sounds are made a bit longer. However, this only happens in a few cases, so it's really different to long & short vowel sounds that form an integral part of English pronunciation.
