American, raised Christian, but this reflects what I've always kinda thought/felt. It's almost like an equation. You have 1 on one side of the equal sign then on the other a bunch of variables and operations to be worked out, but the answer's already given. And the way you kinda work things out is by negating them using inverse operations...almost like karma. Whatever complexity you add to the problem side of the equal sign will always require a move in the opposite direction to get back to 1. It also makes sense scientifically. If E=MC2, then matter is energy. Energy isn't created or destroyed. All that is always was and will be. Sounds a lot like this God thing. I was atheist for awhile but found God is very real, just not understood well. In the Christian tradition there was a group called the Gnostics early on which had some similar ideas to eastern philosophies in terms of the illusory nature of the material realm, and goal of realizing the true/eternal hidden nature of reality. They also have a concept of Logos which seems similar to Guru, Jesus was/is the embodiment of this emmamation from The Pre-existent Source...like Akal, yeah? That tradition was stamped out by Rome though. Only in the last 100 years or so have their scriptures been found. Anyway, not to detract from the message of Sikhi here, just felt like sharing cause I feel like it reinforces the point. One God, One Love

Sat Nam Ji. The addition is a mind operation, the operation from the soul/spirit is multiplication. So according to the mind we have to be zero, but not according the soul : 1 x 1 = 1 God and me, me and God are one, it is about the number 11, the first 1 is God, the second 1 is me, the soul, and we are aligned. In fact God is 10, the soul is one. God is totality, the soul is in everything and everyone.

God is creation, Universal Energy. God isn't a entity ! Religion is worship creation. Don't make the mistake of making a entity of it. People who fight in the name of religion or a God don't understand it at all.

Well this creation is God, and we are of the creation. Eko onkar meaning everything is of the one. That one doesn’t mean nothing other than this creation as whole and we are of the creation. We have our subjective concept of this life including ourselves (remember ourselves is part of this creations and we are not apart from it). We have an inherent longing which is just natural phenomenon to know our essences. So GOD in definition has been a subjective concept for each individual, however, to know what it “IS” we must go within and search for the SAT(truth) to “Realize” “IT”. We don’t need to know what GoD is if we are searching. The biggest impediment to being one with the divine is our own individual concept of GOD. Simply what is it to be a “human being” is the question to be answered. We are not humans, we are just like other creatures in this creation/universe/God yet to be human. Don’t look at what God is, striving to be human “Being” will eventually lead you into being one with that divine/God. And How you become a human being is all in the Guru Granth Sahib. It’s essentially a guide for you to follow which help in becoming one with the divine in which “experience” we realize our true essence and forever be liberated. True search means you have not concluded what it “IS” and the seeking to know is just a natural happening. What it is don’t need to be drawn. The sign of a true seeker is that he or she is just simply searching without drawing any conclusions.
