So, glad you boys are pumping out more videos these days, quality videos. Meanwhile, nishiki is now a d!ck's house brand. There are 2 versions of Colorado, the sport and the comp. The old one you mentioned was the comp (they now moved away from the sram nx to the deore), while the 2x you saw is the sport.

Love your channel, but your comparing two different bike categories. The GT Aggressor, GT avalanche and the Colorado are XC- cross country bikes, and the Mongoose Switchback is a trail bike. XC bikes usually have 120mm or less fork, steep head tube and longer stem vs trail bikes that have 130mm or more fork, slack head tube and short stem. Here an idea for an episode: go over the different bikes categories (XC, trail, down hill) and try to determine where your bikes are base on category.

I totally agree about designs and how times change opinions. Back in the 1970's I owned one of the baddest cars ever to be made! I was the man for many years driving that baby around town being chased by the cops and the hotties, but over time people's tastes changed and it fell out of favor. I sold it to a buddy who unfortunately died when it was hit in a low speed (10 mph) rear end collison and exploded. I miss that Ford Pinto.......what a car.....haha

Nishiki seems to only be sold in USA at Dick's sporting goods now. No longer sold anywhere in Europe, Nordics, Finnish website was shut down too, so not sold in Finland anymore it seems. I've not seen a Nishiki in years outside. Only seen a vintage road bike a friend owns. Dick's did not have anything exiting. I had to use a VPN, but Dick's has a hardtail with 120mm travel listed as: Nishiki Adult 29 in. Colorado Comp Mountain Bike but it has qr skewer at the rear, but the fork has a thru axle, but it's cheap Sr Suntour fork.

I was just at my local Walmart and they had a bike that someone stole the handlebars and cut all the brake lines off. I tried to get it for at least 100 bucks. They told me it would only do $220. The bike was a 27.5 Ozarka vibe.

3:49 What the elevated chain stay allows is shorter chain stay without chain ring clearance being an issue. but they did not take advantage of this at all. So it's pointless. So for smaller riders that want a better balance point but still use bigger wheels it would make sense. But they did not shorten the chain stay, seems like they just used existing tubing and made a weird bike.

Nothing too wrong with the Colorado except the price. It's still the same bike it was. The big box bike market is just vey competitive now (excitingly). I'd love the frame for a mid-drive e-bike build, if it was a couple of hundred less.

I tried to get the OG Colorado. Sweet bike at the time but it's dated now and not worth $499. It's a $300 bike at best now if they updated it then we'd be talking at $499. Could Anyone Really Buy One Nishiki Colorado at that price? X_X

1:48 Paid for a free tune up? 😄 A free tune up means it's free, so you don't pay for it at all. Usually bike shops do a free tuneup. I actually did a free tune up for bikes with the local club recently. That makes no sense. I guess it's extended warranty thing. Basically idiot insurance, if it voided warranty or out of warranty they fix it for you anyway I guess, electronics stores do this too.

It's part of the culture we helped to establish. After all, we are a budget bike channel. Lots of channels cover the expensive bikes and parts. We cover the lower to midish tier bikes and parts.

I like the looks of the frame on the Colorado that rear triangle looks to be very strong and yeah it is overpriced, nice color...
