Agree. When I saw the new info rule, my first thought was, "Now the 'best anglers in the world' can buy fishing spots and show up to those spots with Livescope." How is this even a "sport?" The info rule is very difficult to enforce, so maybe they should just do away with it entirely? What about "all info, no practice?" The NPFL rule limits "live" imaging. If Garmin added a 3 second delay, would they be able to use it? How effective would that be? BASS limited the screens based on diagonal measurement. How long until somebody makes a square, or even circular screen that would have more area for a smaller diagonal? The BPT rule of measuring height makes more sense because that's what matters.

Todd, again thanks for keeping it real! Why in the hell did BASS announce their schedule for 2025 now? if they would not have announced it until January 2, 2025 then they would not be in this position and it would be easy to police. They could have a polygraph question something like the following for starters, were you given a list of lakes that were to be fished in the 2025 BASS season before January 2, 2025 or did you in any way have knowledge of any of the lakes that were to be fished in the 2025 BASS season prior to January 2 2025. It almost looks like BASS is catering to some group or someone by announcing the schedule like this and allowing people to get information up until January 1 2025. This is such a bad look for BASS. I am not even sure if BASS was to try and walk this decision back now it would make it better for them, it might show even more weakness and indecisiveness. It has got to be the biggest black eye I can ever remember in 40 plus years of following BASS for me. I guess that is why icons of the sport are stepping away like Mark Zona and Rick Clunn because they could see the writing on the wall and they did not want to be any part of it any more. I know KVD was fishing MLF but I am sure it was stuff like this that made him step away from that organization early too.

Todd, the complicated part with MLF Rule isn't in the BPT. It's the rules now with the Toyota series and BFL. Not really the screen height off the deck. But the screen height at rhe console. 16" above the steering column???? Well, what point on the steering column are the measuring from? What if the column tilts? Just a lot, they didn't clarify in that press release. I have a 16" Lowrance at the steering wheel on my 721 Phoenix, and I'm not sure it would be legal.

Just fished a BFL yesterday on Dale hollow and zeroed as a co-angler. My boater live scoped all day offshore in 80-100 feet of water. I even took a nap. Also every boat we passed in the tournament the co angler was doing what I was doing. Sitting down enjoying the weather.

I like that they all have separated themselves with different attitudes toward the ffs stuff. I also feel that Bass wanted the optics of doing something but didn't actually do anything. Which is par for the course for them. Mlf has screwed the pooch on a lot of stuff, but I can get behind all their stuff except I wished they would have the same rules for all 3 of their levels (not counting bfl). And keep HS as no ffs. I really like that part of it. And NPFL, I dig it. Do your own thing and whoever wants to be a part of it, give it a go. I'll be watching.l

Isn’t the reason for this rule to level the playing field? Before the schedule was officially released slick posted a video that had nearly half of the events correct that they will be coming too. Haven’t anglers been known to gather information on places that they “might” go to? If an angler isn’t part of the rumor mill doesn’t that out him behind the people who are, and was this to level that out? This rule change was such a major disruption in the standard I assumed there was something they were trying to address. I would have preferred them to go the complete opposite way as you said, if you are a professional you cannot gather barter or gather information period. Wouldn’t that be easier to poly for? Why should they ever call anybody and get info?

Pros or angulars aspiring to pro are being penalized. They grew up with the technology and learned how to use it. Now you want to take their form of fishing away. Yet the "old guard" that didn't grow up with it is crying fowl for various reasons. Then fine, due what golf did. Regular tour and a senior tour. Times are changing. Technology is here to stay. You can delay it, but not stop it. I dont agree with a lot of changes in how I have to live life. But I have no choice but to adapt or get left behind. It's the way of the world. Deal with it like everyone else.
