I totally agree with that “laser focus, then expand” methodology. It’s easy to get a sprawling setup you never explore the possibility of. I was a saxophonist long before I touched synths, so I always respected getting deep deep depth and mastery of instruments versus just having a lot of cool gear.

Yes music does require focus and determination along with disappointment and triumph.. But ... TS your gear reviews are awesome, maybe it's the voice, the personality, the vibe etc... I grabbed a 707 and a k1 vintage along with a few other synths because of the mojo on here.. If you do workflows and tutorials that is awesome too, we can all use some schooling or a different set of eyes on things. Either way thanks for the motivation and if the channel grows... It's deserved...

Thank you ! I’ll most likely do some but just less than before.

@@toddsmithmusic3172 Great, you do pretty awesome reviews, the Behringer opinions and updates are good to hear. Im still waiting on a CS80 clone. almost grabbed the 4k arturia monster but Im holding off, never know what awaits. You have the best synth channel in my opinion. There are others yes but I dunno some people just know how to talk to their audience.. And peace... ;)

Hey Todd. I have to say that I enjoy everything you put out on your channel. All your content matters. Keep doing what you do. Can't wait to hear your music one day in a movie (wishful thinkings). Thanks for your channel. 👍👍👍👍👍

Keep the channel what you want and when you get gear review it if you wish to express that otherwise. Do what you want and enjoy making the music and videos if you truly love it.

Looking forward for the next generation of your sound combining Korg gadget and the 707. It would be awesome if you could upload a video showing some tips and tricks, or shortcuts for the 707. Cheers!

Many 707 videos coming. I’ve been exploring it solo. I have a good amount to share.

Do the fun stuff dude, Gadget was my start and it’s so easy to use. Agree about Roland workflow and of cause Zencore kicks ass for the price. I’ve been sequencing the MC101 off a Novation Circuit. The work flow as a sequencer/arranger, the Circuit is hard to beat. Keep rocking man 🤘🤘.

I appreciate your music along with pointing out new gear......I learned a lot from you. Thanks for that!!! I missed out this past winter as that is when I dig into my synths..... I had to move for the winter due to heating issues and my synths had to be packed up. I needed to learn more of how to operate the equipment, and kinda feel set back, but that is fuel for innovation in mind. Once I figure out how to do what I see in my minds eye, it will be downhill from there.

Objectively, what do you believe remains to be learned about the MC 707 other than a simple limitation of the equipment before combining it with the Korg?
@toddsmithmusic31725 ай бұрын
I’ve yet to explore all its options in terms of just synth engine. Honestly at this point pretty much all my synth sounds have been presets with slightly manipulated settings. Most often the master effect , filter and Envelope are all I really need to touch. I’ve yet to use the mod matrix, which I read is pretty deep. Then I’m still learning what works best for me in terms of mastering in box with all the various EQ options. You’ve got other aspects of the box I’ve yet to explore too but those are 2 that come to mind.

I like your channel the way it is. One of my most successful videos is a bass guitar video - it's off niche yet it still consistently gets views as do my on niche videos. Maybe it only matters for big channels that are chasing less loyal viewers?

@@toddsmithmusic3172 Unfortunately it is, because that also means a penalty since you have to get all the channels up and running (and maintained). I did split my main channel into 4 (I know, too many hobbies), but I had to start all over on 3.....

Personally the MC-707 or any other groove boxes wouldn’t be my first choice to produce an album. I would use this for a dawless jam or live performances but I’d rather use a DAW to produce an album. Korg gadgets is cool but since you can now use the Korg gadgets inside of a full fledged DAW why bother making a full track in Korg gadget?
@toddsmithmusic31725 ай бұрын
I work mainly outside a DAW. I find it much more interesting. I only use DAW to record a master track. The album is over 30 minutes and growing. Then every other album on my page is made in the same way. So it must be working
