I have wondered what the process for these is. The charitable theory is the Ramseys and Fieris design a real meal they'd be happy to serve that is handed over to the corporate food scientists and accountants to turn into a mass produced profit margin with no further input from the face and name who are contract bound to whatever comes out..

I expect so much better from a chef that's been awarded with 17 Michelin Stars in his life. Also, it's really ironic how this only has microwave instructions on it. Out of all the big name, celebrity chefs (at least the ones that I'm familiar with) Ramsey is by far the most anti-microwave and not only has he always been the most vocal in regard to his hatred for microwaves, but he also absolutely chastises the heck out of chefs in restaurants that he visits for using them.

You might want to check out Gordon Ramsay’s Shepherd’s Pie, Larry. It looks good enough, but it’s made with the one thing that Gordon Ramsay has gone on a wall-eyed fit about with other chefs on his competition shows: ground beef. That makes it Cottage Pie, which Ramsay goes to great lengths to point out. True Shepherd’s Pie is made with ground lamb, not ground beef; hence the name Shepherd’s Pie.

Very helpful reviews AND content. I retired after 36 yrs as a butcher for HEB here in Texas and I live alone. I love to cook but I hate to throw food away. My dad was a drill instructor all my youth and we ate what was cooked, ALL OF IT, Cleaned the table, and did the dishes.

When I get steaks from the butcher shoppe in town, I take the pieces of trimmings I cut off, and make stew beef or CFS nuggets from them. Just the bits you don’t necessarily want to bite into on steak but it is still edible.

Beef bourguignon is so easy to make that I'd never consider buying it 'pre-made'. The first time I made it after watching Chef John-Pierre make it, and it was so amazing that I haven't wanted to make a regular beef stew in the slow cooker ever since(though I do if I just want a stew and not something thick and rich to eat over mashed potatoes). All these 'cuisine' type meals with big name chefs on them are just the chef's getting kickbacks for a company using their name/likeness to shovel trash foods.

I had paused the ingredient list and was looking it over. Of course I noticed what you did about the beef being listed at the end, but it took me a couple of minutes just to realize that the first four and a half lines were just describing the sauce! It ends at parsley lol. Then I noticed there are too many closing parens. One has no matching opening parens. Overall, not bad except the lack of beef. Yeah, it's red wine sauce with a little food tossed in lol.

Martha Stewart had some SUPERB frozen dinners but boy were they pricey. For one brief, beautiful moment, Grocery Outlet had one variety of her dinners at a great price. I stocked up. (Her meals were nearly restaurant quality. Full-flavored, well-seasoned but not over-salted.)
