Let me tell you what is happening on your video that you made in Kiev? Kiev is the capital of the Ukraine. Ukraine is a state that gained freedom in 1991 after the collapse of the Soviet Union. Since then, the neighboring aggressive and ignorant, rude country - its name is Russia - has constantly threatened Ukraine. In 2014, Russia committed an act of military intervention and stole Crimea from our country. Russia violated all international laws and order that existed in the world after World War II. It did not just annex Crimea, Russia insists that it has the right to do so, since its criminal leader and his regime do not recognize our independence. It will also be useful for you to know that in 1994 the United States, Great Britain and Russia became the guarantors of the territorial integrity of Ukraine. In 1994, agreements were signed that guaranteed Ukraine that our borders would not be violated. In 1994, we, a peaceful and kind Ukraine, agreed to give our nuclear weapons to the successor of the USSR to a country named Russia. And you, Americans, asked us about this: give up your weapons, Ukraine, you do not need nuclear weapons. And what do we end up with? Since 2014, when Russia attacked Ukraine, the whole world has been telling Ukraine: this is your problem, deal with Russia yourself. And we are coping - we are repelling Russia's military aggression as best we can. On August 24, 2021, my country Ukraine celebrated 30 years of its Independence. We are repelling the aggression of barbaric Russia, which does not want to live by the rules of the civilized world. For 7, 5 years we have been repelling the military aggression of Russia, which is killing Ukrainians in the Ukrainian Donbass. Russia kills, but the civilized world pretends that this is not the case. Since, unfortunately, there is a war going on in our country, we are forced to defend ourselves. And we must maintain our fighting spirit. That's what we needed a military parade for. You filmed the preparations for this military parade. And the parade took place on the birthday of Ukraine, on the day of its thirtieth birthday. Modern Russia is a terrorist country, an aggressor country. And if the world does not stop Putin, the fate of Ukraine will await other countries. You may not have noticed it yet, but the Russian Federation and the Vladimir Putin regime are carrying out terrorist attacks in Europe and are attacking American democracy in a hybrid manner. And Ukraine is not only defending itself in this war.

Notice the t-84 main battle tanks also have the same outfit with an NSV 12.7mm mounted as it's secondary weapon system Sometimes the Kozak-2m is outfitted with the PKT, which is an electronic solenoid-fired version of the Russian PKM in 7.62 x 54r (anti personnel weapon)... in which case you can tell they're eventually expecting to get into some vehicle-on-vehicle combat versus the Russians.

Same thing...
@fleekrushyt94103 жыл бұрын
@@briant5685 It wasnt. The soviet union was never the first one to have a military parade. France had some, germany had some etc.. The soviets didnt even have a soviet parade regulary and it was never seen as some sort of tradition. It was only seen as a show of power to the US and the west. After the cold war for example, there were way less military parades than before. Also, it wasnt the soviet union to introduce them to its member countries as ukraine didnt hold many in kyiv, even in soviet times. For example, many middle east former republics almost never had a parade in soviet times, but had some before when they werent part of the soviet union and some didnt even host more than one military parade since independence. The reason for that is = why should they. Spending money on something when they dont have any real threat. You also see that in many other countries. Like taiwan, which itself almost never had military parades, but now did have 1 or 2 in the last 2 decades. Military parades are mostly used as a show of power and readyness to reply to anyone trying to have a conflict with them. The only other reason is to either try to hide something from the outside world or to try scare its population into not involving itself in protests (these two ones are mostly used in communist states like china, north korea and the former soviet union). I dont see, where i was contridicting myself. Just imagine, germany having a military parade for uniting germany. That would just not make sense at all. Former republics have a reason though. I dont see any contridiction in my comment before.

About the tank tracks destroying the steets - at 3:28 if you look at the tracks at the front you can see black rubber blocks (known as "track pads") fitted to the tracks so the rubber contacts the road not the metal. This minimises damage to metalled (hard surfaced) roads. Contrast that to the T34-85 tank in Irpin, and you'll see it had only pure metal tracks with no rubber blocks. The rubbers are often fitted for parades and tanks used only on roads. It takes quite a time to fit a whole track with rubbers so it's reserved only for when really needed. link to similar view on that video - kzbin.info/www/bejne/oXaXhnR4Zrubbs0 Track pads do not prevent all road damage, expecially when turning tight corners, but help a lot. Contrary to what most people think, the ground pressure under a tank track isn't huge, even though the tank is very heavy, because the load is spread out over a huge area. It's when turning that most damage is done. edit: the track pads also make the tank much quieter as there's no metal track -to-road contact

It's the exact same concept as an airshow that our militaries put on Also in the UK you can go to a few military vehicle parades/demonstrations nothing quite like this- but you are after all in a country that has an active warzone in it.

Military parades do serve several purposes. None of them are practice for anything. Driving in a neat formation like this through a city would only be a practice for disaster. It's their independence day parade. In the US we don't get military parades like this. It is supposed to raise National Pride. Increase army recruitment, show the citizens that they are protected, and show the enemy that "you can try us but it will cost you".

Tires can be shot out Johnny, but not easily. I think you are partially correct Johnny. This seems a bit more than just a parade. Likely it is also a display of might, for any potential aggressor. Those planes, sadly will not stand up to 5th Gen US F22 or Russia SU 57.

@@maxSVB That is for the show. Obviously he's not gonna openly alienate a portion of his viewers. But listen to his sarcastic comments in this video and some of the previous ones, and see how much effort he puts in his videos from other countries for instance recently Armenia, where he highlights the beauty of the country and shows actual sights versus ukrainian vlogs where so far there was nothing but trashy places, kitsch and gore, as if that's all there is to it. It's clear he hates the "de-communization" and pro-western direction of the country.

At the risk of sounding too political, I would say that this is a demonstration of force by Ukraine in order to show Putin not to move on Ukraine. One big reason why Putin did not make a further move on Ukraine (after taking Crimea) is that the American president would step in and do what is necessary to stop it and protect Ukraine. Since we have such a weak president, and because of the train wreck caused by the weak withdrawal in Afghanistan, that could potentially open an opportunity for Putin to make a move. I would guess this is a preemptive show of force to say to Putin "Don't do it!" Just a guess though....there are a lot of different groups that could make a move w/o an external threat....or maybe it was due to the 30th anniversary of Ukraine's independence...?
