To be clear this video was filmed on February 25th in case anyone (like me) thought Johnny 5% was uploading on a daily basis Johnny 5% spends time in his videos disparaging America, saying in America they would be looting the luxury goods stores if there was a war happening. But modern day America has never had to face an invasion. So he is projecting his own feelings. Johnny 5% says people in America would be panic buying and hoarding at the grove store but they aren’t doing that there in Kiev. And becomes noticeably upset when he sees some guys stockpiling at the store he’s buying groceries. In the middle of a war. When residents that may not be able to leave also are unsure of their next opportunity to purchase food. Then there is a scene of his apartment fridge filled to the brim with food. So he is once again projecting, Johnny 5% is the panicked American. And if you follow the next video you see the grocery store is closed the next day, so what those guys were doing was actually the smart thing in a war situation. After weeks of opportunities to leave the country, Johnny 5% stayed defiant saying he will not leave his home. He was even in America and chose to go back. And in the days and hours leading up to the invasion he remained steadfast in saying he would not leave. He had a multitude of reasons for needing to stay even when he had the luxury of leaving. Then when it got too hot in Kiev he packed his bags and left. At the train station he and Bald did not have tickets. Bald was able to arrange for 1 ticket for the two of them. While Bald was arranging for the ticket, a group of Indian people appeared on the platform and Johnny 5% is noticeably disgusted that foreigners (like himself) are attempting to flee the country, insinuating they may not have tickets, which he himself did not have. Johnny 5% also comments how in America the seller of the ticket would have gouged a buyer on the price. Again this is him projecting as when there is any major tragedy, 99% of Americans come together to do what they can to help those in need. Whether it’s hurricane Sandy in NYC, the Bay Bridge collapse in SF, the flooding of Houston caused by Hurricane Harvey, homes being washed by flooding in Louisiana, to neighbors helping each other rebuild after they become victims of natural disasters in small towns, Americans by and large help one another, like the majority of people on this world. Again Johnny is projecting his hate of himself as hate for the common American. He is mad other people are attempting to board a train without a ticket while doing the same thing (and succeeding). After presumably taking the space of other Ukrainians who had less options than he himself had, he spends his time acting brash and wholly unaware of the crises Ukrainian citizens are living through by walking around with a camera in their faces for clicks on his KZbin. We can see Johnny 5% on the train before Bald and other passengers so we can assume others were left behind on the platform while he was able to get on, again without a ticket. And to top off the video, it’s revealed he slept on a bed for 10 hours (without purchasing a ticket), while Bald (who purchased a ticket) or others like the women and children you see in the did not have that luxury. Johnny 5%’s contempt for foreigners, whether Indian or from anywhere else, and his distaste for Americans at large can be attributed to his hate for himself. His constant projection really is just contempt for himself and his own actions. Hypocrite and loser

I think when john talks about the selfish and greedy Americans and what they would do if this was happening in the U.S., he's just referring to what he would do in that situation. When I lived in America for 6 years, I was surrounded by so many kind people who would have never thought of trying to profit off of a life-saving train ticket, but I can totally see this guy upping the price for some poor family while simultaneously berating them for buying too many groceries. I think in 2004 or 2005 we had effects of four hurricanes In a matter of weeks . No electricity for two weeks straight. We lived on a farm 20 miles from town. I worked. The 12 hour night shift , and had to take cold baths, before going to work. Topping off my gas daily. It just takes more food, etc for different sized families. Everyday we wait for your updates. This is a bittersweet moment, bitter because you had to leave your home and your friends but sweet knowing that you guys are safe. I think this is the best decision for now, to move away from Kyiv. I live in the path of a military airport and daily I hear planes and helicopters pass over the house and I can't imagine that during wartime these aircraft bomb people. If peace comes back you can always go back to your home. If you cannot at least you will have some contacts and people that you might be able to help. Praying daily.

I’ve noticed this about a lot of expats, they leave their home countries because they have baggage about it and want to escape... but when shit hits the fan in their adopted homes they will go back to America. Because they are privileged. I meet a lot of these types of expats, and I find it exhausting at times. I get there are issues back home. But the kindest people I’ve met have been in America. It’s a beautiful country with warm loving people. It’s too bad Johnny hasn’t had that experience. And then he bad mouths his country to Ben who is not American, what a shame. I’m an American who lives abroad and I meet a lot of Americans here who are all running away from something. I however would love to one day be able to go home (I’m living overseas due to family reasons). I am an immigrant to the US and I love my country. America has its issues and they are easy to criticize but as a Bosnian Refugee who went through what these Ukrainians are going through I'd agree America is more of a home to me than Bosnia will ever be. We even resided in Germany for six years granted I'd say generally life quality was much higher but unfournatley they booted us after six years due to our refugee status. We had nothing to go back to in Bosnia so the States were our only salvation at the time for Many Bosnians and many have made it a second home. Americans have just been spoiled. I'd agree that certain freedoms are easier to come by in Europe that's the nature of the socialist system. Capitalism does swallow some whole and I understand the frustration, but to bad mouth, this country is a little silly.

Let’s keep the focus on the Ukrainian people and the crisis that they are going through without making these backhanded comments about your homeland.
