The orbs are changing in price due to speculation. In the recent Q&A stream they discussed the Nightmare and it's awful GP/HR rate. They then went on to mention perhaps buffing the Nightmare staffs to some degree, but they have no idea how they would do that. Honestly Inquisitor's needs a Reinforced version. To make it lvl 60/70 defenses.

I always understood overall price levels to largely be a factor of the time of year. In December/January as well as the summer months, demand for items surges because (1) people tend to have more time off to play and (2) Jagex times major content releases to coincide with these months.

i absolutely love the fang, and have been having a ton of fun with it, but the fact that it beats dragonbane weapons while fighting most dragons is kind of insane to me. I've also checked its dps against demonic gorillas, and it has higher dps than the arclight. it even does great against corp, which is very strange because its not a spear. I almost feel like this weapon isn't healthy for the game, because its quickly just outclassing weapons that are specifically in the game to fight certain types of monsters.

it has essentially made claws, fang, sgs, bgs, hammer, and eldritch nightmare staff special attacks broken. take lightbearer to God wars and you always have a spec between kill waits. take it to slayer and with sgs and eldritch orb staff, prayer and hp become cheaper on tasks. pking you can now easily have a 3rd spec ready before the enemy can try and kill you. so many opportunities with the ring

There is not. The bots moved to the wilderness. Wildy is off limits now unless you have perfect PK skills and stats. The player kill bots are on a 15 minute rotation at pretty much every world for every activity.

@@sauron55 this is exactly the point!!! Jagex know that it will be easy to camp and scout. They even added the peep feature to make PKing extra easy. The point of wildy is high risk / high reward. So clearly the new bosses will be some of the most risky content in the game, so it must be the best money in the game, else it will be dead content by day 2. If you're going to need to go with a team and get PKed every 15 mins, the loot better be amazing. I don't think just the wildy weapons are all of it. Their buff is great, but I don't see them going for 100m+ in the long term, unless ofc they become more useful than just for farming revs

Elidinis will surely keep decreasing akin to the Pegasian Crystal, and with the fortified shield generally being a better investment into mage gear than Ancestral, I'm interested to see what happens with that. But Tumuken's Shadow is 2h so I'm not sure how that will shake things up, although most people can't afford it.

Blood runes are less than alch value now. I made 185k of them on the way to 99 rc with gotr outfit and blood essence, then 95-99 I made souls when I heard that Shadow would use soul runes in the charges. I wish I dumped the blood runes at 400gp each

The Scythe was not the reason blood runes crashed…If you look at the graph they started going down in August, GOTR was released in August. The supply has gone up tremendously with the outfit and essence, you’re looking at ~110% more runes from runecrafting. Before BE and GOTR players were crafting 57 blood runes per trip, now they’re doing trips getting upwards to 140, overall crafting nearly 10,000 blood runes an hour from a single crafter. Not to mention the players just playing GOTR and crafting blood runes that otherwise would not be crafting blood runes and monster drops. It used to take ~15 hours of runecrafting to fully charge a scythe, now it’s only ~7 hours, and the scythe lasts ~16 hours on a full charge…the little balance there was is now gone. Blood runes are coming into the game at a ridiculous speed, unless scythe/sang drop to a low price and players start using them like whip/trident, the blood rune will never recover.

I think they screwed up huge by making the fang one of the most common items. In every other Raid and high end PVM, weapons are very hard to come by. Now they release ToA, which almost anybody can do, and make new BIS melee wep one of the most common items? People looking over meta are probably hyped to trade a DHL + rapier for the fang. Rapier beats fang in many places, but most players don't care enough to do the dps calcs, they prob assume fang is at least comparable. Now for mains it will probably be in most established players' banks.

I did a test on my 114 account, kbd, DHL vs Fang, I had faster kills with the fang and I think because of its buff, if I had max melee stats I feel like the DHL would do better, so the fang for my account is definitely superior and it should not be dropped as much as it is. Jager needs to rework the drop rates, the fang is a great weapon and it shouldn't be a weapon worth 20m, which is where it's going.

I think most of these crashes are because these items arent used in toA. People speculated lance would be useful in zebak… rapier blade bowfa all jumped pre raid scythe was holding up and ahooting up on the way to toa, everything that people speculated for MONTHS to be useful immediately crashed when they realised they werent the metas/when they could get a fang.

The problem I see with the fang is that it's just too common. They should replace it with the ward because that would preserve the price of not only the fang but the rapier as well. Then you have Masori which is just confusing. It's a little bit better than Arma defensively in everything but magic def. Then it's slightly better than void in most situations offensively. It's just not that good imo. I think I was expecting the Torva equivalent and what I got is a void/armadyl hybrid with great magic def. I don't blame people for not wanting it and the price just dropping til it's actually affordable. If they don't do anything I really hope they release some content where you basically need Masori for it. That stuff is gonna be real cheap sooner or later without any content to go with it.

@@mikeholland6750 Yeah purely for damage output but if we're talking about dps then you shouldn't compare it to armadyl because armadyl was never known for dps. You have to compare it to void. Void to Masori is not a huge upgrade at all. In some places it's still more efficient to use void even now. You really can't say the same thing for void melee because the only time it's better than bandos is for specs. Other than that you're better off in bandos in almost every situation. So you're right but I don't think you're looking at the totality of the ranging skill. Armadyl was never really good leaving Masori in a situation where no one wants it until it's cheap. Just look at the price. No way most people already got the set, they just don't want it yet and it's cheap af for high end gear ALREADY.

One thing I've learned whether it's rs3 or osrs is to never ever invest in weapons. Sooner or later, if will crash, get a nerf or something better comes along. It's funny though that osrs is reacting the same way as stock market and cryptocurrency; it's been crashing for a while.

The reason for the instability is pretty simple. They banned 3rd party clients, 3rd party clients are what everyone used for cheating at bossing and other high level content. They had no detection process but now they do. They have been doing a great job catching the bots so everyone’s whos been cheating at things like bosses are not caught and banned in waves. The sudden drops directly correspond to detection & ban waves. You’ll notice huge changes in the ge and huge drops in the online players that directly correspond to when they do ban waves. Like the first 3rd party ban wave they did a few months ago was a two week temporary ban to everyone using a third party client; the average online player base went down like 50%. Meanwhile after the ban was over the player base shot up and prices changed again. They have now done 3 third-party ban waves since disallowing them and there has been the same consent effect every time.

It could, and it could not. Generally all item prices are set by the usefulness of the given content and price speculation on future updates. You could theoretically say for any item that its only an update away from a price spike. If Jagex really cared or wanted to they could buff it or release new content centred around it. Its quite wierd tho that they would just flop nightmare as a boss and her items after only 2 years. Logically I believe they will save nightmare since they discussed on Q&A how poor gp/hr it is, so they know about the problem. Scythe however idk.
