What is heart pine? What's the fuss about?

I am buying an old house 130 years old. Black mold but i am tearing down and hope there is heart longleaf pine boards in it!

If it’s made before the 1930s it should. The older the better tho. I’m sure it will.

Do you consider only the resin soaked wood as heart pine, or do you consider any large beam with a decent bit?

I consider the age alone. Not the amount of resin. However some boards have more that others. 😁Thanks for the comment!
