This is so painful. I started getting them around 14, that's the first time I remember. I get them primarily on my labia majora (but I've had them on armpits and between or under breasts) and they don't go away for MONTHS, even then sometimes you can feel that it's still there. After googling, I learned sometimes vicks can open it and drain it! Helps it heal too. It's worked quite a few times for me. It's just one of the many autoimmune conditions i have. Hope that helps someone.

Try wiping and cleaning with witch hazel first, then use a good grade essential oils blend (I use doTerra) with the following oregano, frankincense, tee tree, and lavender with an carrier oil like fractionated coconut oil or castor oil. I make it in batches take a 4oz bottle add the following use more oregano drops (15-20), tee tree oil (10), lavender oil (10-12), and frankincense (5-10) then top off with the carrier oil. Apply with Qtip or like me a cotton pad and leave it on ,would do this 2-3x a day especially before bed, not gone lie it will burn but the after is so pleasant. In haven’t had an episode in a lung will. But soon as I fell I start this. My doctor was amazing at the results.

I had lower grade H.S. from my early 20s to my mid 40s. Lesions would form and usually drain on their own and heal without needing any medical attention. I was told over the years that it was caused by different things. PCOS, insulin resistance, excess weight, poor diet. But in my mid 40s, I was diagnosed with an autoimmune disease. And during the initial consultation with the rheumatologist, she asked if I had Hidradenitis Suppurativa. When I said yes, she told me that it should get better with the autoimmune disease treatment, as it's related to chronic inflammation. The medications I take for the autoimmune disease put the H.S. in complete remission as soon as my inflammation markers went back to the normal range.

I've had HS for about 15 years and I am in remission because I've made dietary changes...minimizing processed foods, sugar, dairy and refined carbs, and eating a lot more fruit and veggies. I also have Crohns disease and that is in complete remission also. I will have minor flares with HS when I eat too much junk food. There is a ton of good information out there about how diet affects our body, and specifically auto immune illness. @@jenalvarez4917 I left a lot of tips on the comments above. Change your diet, NOW. Whatever you’re eating it’s not helping you. Think about it. Add MORE veggies and fruits to your diet, drink MORe water 3-5 water bottles daily. Get some exercise even if it’s walking daily for 25min. You literally need to change everything. Including what you use for soaps and scrubs. Don’t use things that exfoliate the skin. Use tee free oil soaps which calm the skin. Get the surgical soap that starts with an “H” … it’s pink/red and it’s on Amazon big bottle. Hibiccos? Something like that, it’s an antibacterial soap that last 2 days on your skin. Also, change your razors 🪒 often, like every 2 weeks. Don’t use the same scrub throw it away after 2 weeks of use. Wash your towels often and with bleach. Don’t share your towels with others. Use 100% cotton underwear or shirts. This allows your sweat to get trapped in the fabric instead of in you. And GO swim at the pool when you feel better .. the chlorine helps kill bacteria plus you get exercise -- also shower right away after working out or using the pool. But do change your diet immediately.

@@sierrak631 OK so buy some bentonite clay...usually easy to find online. Also find colloidal silver water at 10 ppm or 20 ppm. Don't be busy with ppm part it's all about particle size and not easy to explain or important... a poultice is basically a thick mixture. I used cotton pads and applied this mixture on the pad then on the wound.. it took a month but it worked. The wound opens up a little so don't be weirded out this is good. This allows the wound to be fully cleaned out and healed. I changed it 3 times a day, fresh poultice for overnight. You can add a little Tea tree but not nessasary . After a year of trying prid salve and antibiotics cream nothing would fully heal it but this mixture . I cried when I finally did it. Learnt this from an old man who had same problem amd he wanted surgery to be the last option... hope you understand . Oh n lastly mix the water and the clay with a wooden spoon. Metal reacts with the clay negatively. Be patient and keep it up for even a little while longer after the wound has closed just to be sure . In the groin area it is super irritated by underwear so I really kept going until I felt completely sure it couldn't be re agitated into inflammation again. This worked so well ill never do anything else other than prid salve to drain wound initially. Good luck amd just be patient. After a year I nearly gave up but finally found something that heels it completely.

We often had to send them to a reconstructive surgeon for excision and skin graft. And that was without any guarantees of success from what we did or the reconstructive surgery. Sad, so very sad. These patients were often at the end of their rope and we felt helpless in offering them good treatment with good outcomes .

CHANGE YOUR DIET! I suffered several years with what I thought was this but was never formally diagnosed. My doctor told me I had a fatty liver so I dove into Keto dieting and within a week the bumps went away. Living on a healthy diet is better than skin grafts and taking antibiotics for the rest of your life. I’m no longer doing keto but I still watch my sugar intake. It’s worth a shot!
@Dragonfly_magictarot9 ай бұрын
I second what you’re saying. The diet is a huge component. HUGE. Fast food restaurants, too many sweets, alcohol is all poison that doesn’t not give us any nutrients or vitamins for our skin. How can we expect our aging bodies to fight these things if we don’t feed it the right diets. It’s okay to eat a burger from your favorite place maybe 1 every two months but I was eating out every single day … I changed my diet, did some bleach baths, bought that surgical grade soap, (I don’t shower with super hot water anymore) and I did a round of antibiotics for one month. I had the thing pushed out by a private clinic doctor (Mexican/Latino with a great doctor on-site He is from Argentina) type clinics that you have to pay up cash. 💰 I didn’t want to bother with the HMO- then the referral bla bla bla. He cut right into it and took every single bit of the liquid/contents inside this thing and we healed it. I forget the name of the pill but it was 50mg daily for 30 days. I’ll look for the pill name that was prescribed. And I’ll put it up if anyone is interested.
@Dragonfly_magictarot9 ай бұрын
Yes it was very painful after, with lidocaine the doctor was able to make the incision and push everything out so that NOTHING was left. Everything needs to come out… I can’t express that enough … because if it doesn’t then your weakened body- the one you’re not feeding well has to fight this on its own! So it’s better just to have everything taken out, if they ask if you want lidocaine.. to numb you, TAKE It!!! So they can do their job without you being in so much pain. Afterwards just regular soap (doesn’t smell) and DONT pick your nose.. STAPH lives in our noses naturally!! So don’t pick your nose.. (just another tip) for anyone reading. What a fk nightmare this thing can be. Change your diet, don’t give up, do some bleach baths for at least 2 weeks 3 times per week. (Google how to properly do a bleach bath)

His is extreme on his inner thighs & groin but he does have them all over his body. He is 30 now & had precocious puberty with severe acne & eczema. This is absolutely what I have, and my doctor said as much nearly a decade ago when I was having a particularly bad flare up. They just prescribed a cream that said not to put it in the exact places I most needed it (scalp, pits, etc)… and what was I supposed to do about my back? Roll around in it?! For the follow up visit months later it had died down a bit because of winter so when they sent me to a specialist she just said I just had folliculitis. 🤦♂️ So much for catching it early! I’m bleeding all over myself even right now. So many ruined clothes! It is definitely HS, complete with the reoccurring bloody cysts and tunnel that connect a pocket just below the skin with another that is much deeper. Sometime I can dig the impacted hair out to deal with it before I get a bloody boil but I literally have hundreds of the smaller ones all over my body right now. I’d go back if I weren’t teetering on the edge of bankruptcy ever since a natural disaster three years ago (EF4 tornado). :(

hidradenitis supparativa patient with the cysts and sinus tract I can sympathise with an autoimmune disease. You need to be careful about what you wash your skin with and what antiperspirant you use. Avoid strong perfumes. I use Sanex shower wash in the shower which doesn’t smell the best but it looks after the skin. I use deodorant with 0% aluminium and avoid Sure brand as it aggravates it. For open wounds on the cysts hydrocolloid dressings are excellent at promoting healing. There’s also a diet component reduce sugar intake. Seeing your doctor for treatment for insulin resistance is good idea as well. I take metformin and I’m not diabetic but it seems to improve the severity of the cysts as well as taking the contraceptive pill. I also take oxybutynin for sweating which has helped keep underarms and pantyline dryer while at work in my uniform. It needs action from all sides to make improvement to the skin condition

Despite saying that this disease has been the worse curse of my life I have a lession on my penis it has phyologically and physically affected me so much I lost all my self confidence my girlfriend left me after a lession on my penis randomly started oozing 1 month ago. Now that I’m single without the confidence to show a girl my penis I am worried about my future and when it comes to pro creating I pray to God every night that my future kids never have to go through this dehumanising humiliating pain . I don’t wish this disease on anyone even on those who are dislike because this disease is just the worst thing ever. I’m currently at stage 2 I got tunnels in my skin I have lessions on my armpits groins buttocks penis and I have a pilinodial cyst. Recently I signed up to a gym but everytime I exercise and sweat I get flare ups I’m in constant pain . Everybody laughs at me it’s the middle of winter and all I wear are shorts and for the past 5 years I have worn nothing but shorts I can’t wear trousers or tracksuits because they trigger my flare ups . I’m 21 and I already feel 40 I don’t know if I can do this for much longer. I am 6ft1 and 240 pounds the lowest I’ve ever been in my life since the age of age 18 has been 215 pounds. I can’t work I can’t do nothing with my life I don’t claim benefits I just sit home all day and play video games because that’s all I can do with this bone crushing disease I can only wear shorts my social life is non existent I don’t have a handfull of friends my only friends are those I play online with whom I’ve never met in real life. I believe the situation I’m in causes me to be in constant pain and I am going to use this to my advantage . I have quit smoking weee ciggaretes and vapes in the spand of 1 week and it’s been hard for me because smoking is the only outdoor activity I was able to do I would roll a joint step out my house and come back in . I am going to use the constant anger and pain I go though everyday and continue to do what I used to do before the age of 12 when I got diagnosed with hs. My goal my childhood dream was to become a boxer my name is Ali and this has always been my dream . I will continue to go to the gym no matter what I go through no matter how bad I hurt I will continue to go and eliminate my weight to my life 165 pounds . Once I’m at that healthy weight I will pursue my boxing and I know nobody will able to stop me the pain and humiliation I go though every day has made me icecold my pain receptors don’t function properly I know nobody in the middle weight category can lay a hand on me. I know nobody is still reading the end however I want you guys to pray for me include me in your prayers and I promise to all of you reading my comment I will be the worlds first middle weight boxing champion with hs. My whole family think I’m a failure nobody understands what I go through in my day to day life and the only way out for me is to lose this weight and become a boxer an ice cold ice hearted boxer with no mercy for his opponents. I have recently cut out alll forms for carbohydrates and for the past week I’ve only been eating 2 bananas 1 killo of chicken or lamb and 200 grams of vegetables a day . I have lost 11 pounds in 1 week and please everybody please just pray for me during my journey of becoming a professional boxer. I am very resilient and determined the only thing that can get in my way is death so pray I don’t die and I promise to all of you I will become the middleweight champion just remember my name it’s Ali . Can laser hair removal work to keep them from coming back seeing as how it's caused by hair follicles?
@shaikhashaikha34572 жыл бұрын
People try this home remedy for new abscess it really works with mine!!!! Take an onion remove it's skin and cut it in half, take one half and put it to grill on a hot pan (NO OIL USED) leave it on the hot pan for few minutes until the surface attached to the pan changes in color (brownish) take the grilled onion of the pan wait only few minutes for it to cool down a little so you don't burn your skin, and put it while it's still very warm on the abscess and keep it for at least 3 to 4 hours or for one full night, it will stop the information and the abscess will disappear in few days without leaking or bursting.

I'm fortunate that spironolactone has worked wonders for me. I recently had an idiot gp refuse to write the prescription for this medication (she thought I was on too many medications and I didn't "need" this). In the two months I was off my meds, what do you know, I started developing lesions again. Needless to say, I've found a new gp and don't have any more problems, for now.

Spironolactone- what it this medicine? Antibiotic? Pill? What does it do? ty!!
@mikeyspocksstdclinic29312 жыл бұрын
@@LisaCSCO Spironolactone is traditionally used as a blood pressure medication, however, it's proven effective at helping with this condition and PCOS. The way it's supposed to work is that it helps with hormonal fluctuations that us girls get with our cycles and as such, it reduces the amount of retained fluid at the sites of HS breakouts. So, it essentially dries out the oozy lesions and makes them less like to spread and in cases like mine and my sister's, it made the lesions disappear completely. One of the nice things about this med is that it's cheap. It's typically on the Walmart $5/mo list and when I see what my insurance is charged, it looks like they pay about $3.38/mo for it. I hope this helps! If in the future you've got any more questions, let me know.

Wanna read a funny story ? Here we go. For context : I’m 17. So 3 years ago I went to a dermatologist confused and scared of some weird stuff that’s growing on my body. He prescribed me a HEAVY ANTIBIOTIC for ACNE under the assumption that every teenager only gets that. For some reason it worked so the doc said let’s pump down on the doses so I did. It wasn’t as effective and I’d have a spot or two monthly so I didn’t complain cuz 2 spots are better than 10. Fast forward 2 years later My head was burning with a lot of spots on it. So I was transferred to another Doctor who immediately diagnosed me with HS. She prescribed some light antibiotics that help but she told me about some biologic treatment “basically needles” and in a few weeks Imma be taking those. The End.

@TheDNDWizard2 жыл бұрын
In a way yes. Laser hair removal can help it go into remission and prevent as many outbreaks. Laser hair removal has been an amazing help for me. But I still get outbreaks. One of the big problems is that there is a hormonal aspect to it. Anti androgen drugs have been a big help as well.

My arm pits also NEVER sweat and have NEVER had to wear deodorant because of this and don't ever get the B/O smell on my arm pits either. No I'm not gloating because of this. Yeah it's nice to not have to worry about shaving my pits and nice not to have to worry about deodorant but, I often wonder if any of that contributes to my HS problems. I know many people who suffer from HS A LOT worse than I do. Maybe all of that is also why I don't have it as severe as some.

Proper dieting and regular exercise will cure this. Things one should avoid to cure HS : Carbs, Sugar, All Dairy products, breads especially food products contains yeasts. You can take fruits as much as u want which contains natural sugar so no issues and can take all kind of meat, sea foods, egg and green vegetables. Losing excess weight will also help in this issue. Daily do exercise or some sports. I know this is hard to follow but this is way more better than suffering with HS, if you follow this for 6 months properly can get cured completely from HS.

This is clearly a hereditary disease and results from the immune system overreacting to that blocked pore. Like epidermis or Pilar cysts require removal of the entire cyst wall, hydradrenitis lesions don't go away unless the entire hair shift is found and removed. Unroofing them or doing I & Ds on them will temporarily drain these lesions, but they more likely than not will fill again. And they aren't always filled with pus. Many smaller lesions contain serum, or sweat or serosanguinous fluid. Is so aggravating that the medical community at large either misdiagnosed or maltreat this condition. May not seem like a fatal condition to them, but it can lead to cancer. And the quality of life to the sufferers of this condition is greatly altered.

Just scrub your skin and shower everyday
@KaanMithatKeles-gk2gy8 ай бұрын
It's a lot more complicated than that. Scrubbing can actually make it worse. I've had this now for 25 years. Started in groin then thighs, then very low back area and then left underarm and then right. I actually now mainly suffer and badly to be honest in my right underarm. I occasionally still get them in the other areas mentioned and when I do its always a big episode but the scarring and tunnels have not managed to develop the same as my right underarm has. I've had ones which have formed in my lumph nodes and breast tissue on both sides, deeply which has then involved screening for cancer which luckily has come back clear. The big problem area mentioned in my right arm pit has had now around 4 scarred areas which have open abscesses that have been continually active for over 3 years. Antibiotics don't work. Surgical washes don't work, antibacterial lotions don't work. Every day I am top of making sure this area is bathed and treated but it doesn't stop. Scrubbing doesn't heal it and often if I can tolerate doing so makes the areas more open and inflamed and a large area of it will just become one massive angry and extremely painful abscess which through all the tissue tunnels pumps put puss from the open tissue wounds that are there. I can be talking an abscess of 2 inches each way and deeply present deeply into all the tissue under my skin. All I can do is keep on with hot salt infused clothes to try and get it to rupture as quickly as possible. It's unbeatable. I can't sleep as even if I'm not lying in a position that pressures that part of my body the pain from my arm just lying flat naturally is really painful anyway. Loving my arm so the abscess doesn't touch anywhere means the skin becoming more taunt and that's painful too. The moment the skin breaks is when the relief begins. I am doing everything i can do so to make it all less active but its not stopping the disease. I'm awaiting surgery now to remove what is possible in scarred and dead tissue, the tunnels between the abscess pockets under the skin and this will also involve working down into my lymph node and breast tissue. Skin graphs and a large area of stitching will what I will be left with and it's not necessarily a cure as it often just comes back. It's a horrible disease and has been a massive impact negatively on daily life and living normally. It's been really miserable and disabling sometimes.
