hey just wanted to let you know that 99% alcohol is not what you should use to sanitize. 70% is best. the 99% evaporates too quickly to kill bacteria.
@isabellaholligan77308 жыл бұрын
soooooo true
@eileeninfante14918 жыл бұрын
very true, concentrations higher than 70% merely seize the outer cell wall of the bacteria and dont kill it
@MakeupbymckennaB8 жыл бұрын
I actually checked the big bottle that I had it and it was 70%! lol I had transferred it into a travel size clear bottle awhile ago like you can see in the video and it wasn't labeled whoops -__- lol

She is so right about the high cost of a professional kit. Mine cost me about $6,000 including lights, table, chair, organizers, advertising. I did buy high end cosmetics because many of my clients expect that. Your kit should reflect the type of clients and jobs you will be serving.

I have a friend that uses only drug store products and she charges 45$ a lot of people complain about the price. I mean don't be charging more then the price of the product you paid for on their face. There's many people that use only expensive makeup and charge 65$ and the price is way more reasonable.
@VaguelyOriginal8 жыл бұрын
+Essi's Makeup True, but then you have to take into account time, travel, products, time, change of plans etc. All of that means time, and time means money. :) Just covering the cost of your products won't pay ya bills! :)
@cocodakilla8 жыл бұрын
your skills should speak for themselves. Lisa eldridge and others have SKILLS so charge a lot. If you are good at your job it doesn't matter what u use
@VaguelyOriginal8 жыл бұрын
+Coco Pops Absolutely! But you have the right to charge more if you're applying $200 of product VS $40 of product :)
@cocodakilla8 жыл бұрын
+Aperture Beauty yes true. To be honest, your product should just WORK. If it's good then it should be good enough. Pro makeup artists use cheaper products as well as expensive stuff because it simply works. Expensive eyeshadows tend to be fantastic. Skin products like foundation and concealer too. With lip stuff you can do anything under 20 dollars It should be a mix of fantastic products. You can still charge a lot. As long as you can work well and use the best products available.

Just a tip - don't use 99% alcohol. 99% dries up much faster than 70% (which is what you should be using) which means that the alcohol dries faster than it sanitizes. Especially on cream products.

Always get the very lightest and darkest in foundation and concealers and a few inbetween so that you can mix. Depending on your relationship with the person would determine if you should do it. If it’s someone close that’s encouraging you to start make up they’ll understand your limited make up selection. 🤷🏾♀️

@PamiiD778 жыл бұрын
personally i find a lot of clients are spray tanned so warm shades are really flattering, even the fair shades in the palette looks great on fair girls. If youre just starting out I'd recommend getting the full warm palette and the 5 palette of any shades you find will suit particular skin tones more. Or even a 5 cool to mix and create neutrals :)

What do you use to make glitter pigments stay on your clients eyes.
@MakeupbymckennaB8 жыл бұрын
I spray my brush with Fix + by MAC...that usually does the jobs but if you are using a chunky glitter, I suggest using a glitter glue such as the one by Two Faced :)

I went to Sally's and got a glitter adhesive it seems to work & was fairly inexpensive.
@Buttonsbeauty8 жыл бұрын
Inglot Duraline really works for loose glitters/loose powder pigments. Mix them on a plate or small flat surface! Also Too Faced has a primer called glitter glue that is an adhesive you stick the glitter directly onto the eye, although I find that leaves fallout on the cheeks most of the time. As long as you clean up anything afterwards you should be okay :)
