People in low caste reservations get it simply because they need the help from it, they have been left at the bottom of the country by the previously used caste system, it's a way to help and raise them from those poverty levels. So it's to essentially help them be equal financially. Low castes are a result of oppression of society that had no say in it.

2:55 - Reservations and having a lower caste - Yes, Reservation system is our hope. Over for 1000 years my family was not allowed to go to temple, school to choro. After this how could you imagine to be at par with everyone. There was a time my grandfather needed to cross road as soon as he saw your grandfather. It is so sad that the lower section is still depressed, so depressed over absolute fiction. My brother working for govt committed suicide in 2016, he deserved a promotion for like 5 years, when he did not receive it he asked : the answer he got was "brahmin kya chammar ko salute marege." The problem is no one wants to think from our angle, obviously why would anyone. Talking about reservations the GENERAL (not higher/upper) case is 50% of the population.. They get 60%-70% of seats and still cry over it. After 1000 years of being hidden and treated like sh*t, we do deserve a chance to grow.. I myself loved a upper caste girl.. I work in private sector and earn well, never needed to use the reservation I did good with my life. One day I told my mom that I want to marry my love of life .. my gf from 7 years, I told her the name and she started crying... Said "Sorry" to me for giving me birth. Her parents denied. You know it all why. Just for 1 minute try thinking about us, it is just sad living with a scar a stigma that we cant change what so ever.

Lalit Kumar well you need to do some research kid , yeah I agree you have went through a lot of discriminations and hardships 1000 yrs ago but why still so butthurt about it if you really wanna prove then do it without any reservation, one should not be given according to the caste but in accordance to their fathers income I have seen many rich low caste people availing their reservations to get into good unis and poor general category kids having hard luck .

Just realised , reservation is like karma to the upper castes. They spent years and years walking over the lower castes, now they feel offended by the fact that lower castes are equally working and studying with them through quota. Karma at its finest. Reservation is way to balance the social hierarchy created by the upper castes but sadly looking at the video some upper castes don’t want to ever break that hierarchy.

BTW Darky Wow dude, this is not a 1000s of years old concept. There are lower castes still stuck living lives in lower villages without any facilities. Why do you think so many reserved seats go empty in college admissions? Because they are being put to their place by the upper castes. In Bihar, a girl was raped because she was getting admission to study computer science engineering and she was from lower caste. And you think this is an age old concept? During my fathers time, they forcefully made him stay in a Harijan hostel just because he happened to be from a lower caste. My blood boils when I look at that hostel today, it is in a very pathetic condition. Reservation is supposed to do what it needs to do, upper caste people will never even get a slight inkling about it because the story has not been written through their perspective but from the lower caste perspective. When you understand what a minority of people go through in this country or atleast seen it with your own eyes then you wouldn’t be lecturing about this concept as 1000 years old.
