That was quite an interesting video. It reminded me of our life in Moldova. I am an American who moved to Moldova three years ago. My wife and I live in a village home where we grow our own crops, pick our own fruit, raise our own chickens, gather our own nuts and berries, and make our own wine. It's a simple life filled with simple pleasures. I love it.

I want to buy a house and property in Ukraine, so I'm watching all your videos about that. At the end of this video, you mentioned prices, with an example, living one hour from New York city, or Chicago. Coincidentally, yesterday a man told me he lives a one hour drive from New York, and I told him, I grew up, a one hour drive, from Chicago. I then went on to tell him, how similar those cities are. However now, there are not any small villages, only a one hour drive away, as there was, approximately fifty years ago. In Ukraine, they are still all over. There are even areas of Kiev, that have forests and lakes, where hardly any people go to. I think I will have to consult with you, in future. I know a woman in Kiev, who is a real estate agent, however, she doesn't speak English, and I don't speak Russian well. Also, I can tell, you are someone that can be trusted.

Olga, Like your channel because it shows your country. The first house is what we call a "knock down". These are bought here for the land . The house is knocked down and a new house is built. You should mention if the house or apartment come with city water or well water ,gas for heating and cooking and if the plumbing (toilet and waste water go into a sewer which would go to a treatment plant or out to a septic system. Thanks. 🇺🇸

The same story as in the USA. $500 to $1000. But the land is what you really want which is usually 18 meters wide and 32 meters long

Most countries offer better prices for land than here in the UK, here it's very expensive, I went to see friends in Indiana, my friends have a bungalow with a large barn and close on eight acres of land, they paid around$100,000, over here that would fetch over a million

I don't really think you can really make too much money even with a renovation project. I believe though Kiev is offering a lot of opportunities with fantastic yields. The mortgage market is still underdeveloped and prices in USD terms are down by more 70% since 2008. But in Kiev as an investment. Buying in a village is more of a lifestyle choice.

Houses like that in the UK would be a builder's dream and usually sell at auction. Mind you, getting mains water connected costs £5000 but that would be a minor investment given the profit on a new house on a plot that size . I am assuming the bulldozer (mentioned in another comment) got there first:)

Very good advice about looking for a place away from Kyiv, there are lots of places that are more affordable. Even kharkiv has places 30 minutes drive away that are affordable, go to a village outside of Sumy and the prices will be so much less than Kyiv and you get more for your money. Lots of the villages have a small shop or magazine as they call them where you can buy very basic things but stuff like eggs and milk you buy locally, you can even buy some meat , especially chicken in the village so if you grow vegetables it's not so difficult. The chernozem soil is amazing and grows beautiful croos

We are close to river (beach) and great forrest. To get privatisation of ground and building licence take time, but it's so cheap to build. If you build in gasbeton, you can make a dasha for nothing. Try to consider to make a house, witch are warn in winter - heating are not very cheep in Ukraine. We do build with 200 mm gasbeton, 150 mm minirslwool and Nice bricks.
