International Women’s Day is celebrated every year on March 8. But why is this day important? What does the day signify? This video explores the origins of women’s suffrage in the United States and around the world. It also discusses damaging stereotypes for both girls and boys, the presence of gender inequality that still exists today, and how to celebrate the women in your own life.

Clara Zetkin was a German Marxist theorist, communist activist, and advocate for women's rights.Zetkin was very interested in women's politics, including the fight for equal opportunities and women's suffrage, through socialism. She helped to develop the social-democratic women's movement in Germany. From 1891 to 1917, she edited the SPD women's newspaper Die Gleichheit (Equality). Why is she not recognized in this clip??

International Women's Day is a day to celebrate the achievements and successes of women around the world, but it is also a day to recognize the challenges and struggles that many women face. Poverty, unemployment, and disabilities are important issues that disproportionately affect women, and it is crucial to raise awareness and advocate for solutions to these issues. #InternationalWomensDay #EndPoverty #EmpowerWomen #EqualOpportunities #DisabilityRights ♀🌍👩‍🦽🌐

i am tired of hearing we haven't reached gender equality yet. i will acknowledge the inequalities of 100 years ago, and in some developing countries but there is no patriarchy in the western world. as a matter of fact, women are treated better and have lower homelessness rates and lower suicide rates, they are not murdered as much as men too.

I 100% agree. feminism in USA is just a group of misandrists, and for the better feminists, ONLY-women-rights movement. Like people want gender equality in USA then they should start fighting for the men getting shut down by misandrists and even other men, stop the social stigmas, fix the broken court laws that disfavor men, and just be equally respect to them as women.

It makes sense. But I think it's still important to celebrate or at least remember about the international women's day, since it's crucial to not to forget about all the struggles that women went through to get where we are today. For example, to this day in Afghanistan and Iran women are oppressed and nobody can guarantee that the rights that we have today in the Western world will not be taken away by some autocrat or dictator

Funny you say that -->women have adapted to societal & economicc change at a spectacularly high achieving rate compared to men in the last 70 yrs and breaking down sex/gender stereotypes about intelligence and capabilities. One last hurdle, convincing the world that religion is not about men as a ruling class. Scientists have muddled that to create human beings without a woman's womb. But for all eternity and nearly every animal species, it's the feminine sex that has created and taught the new offspring.. Religions need to change. God is a woman. Ahwomen!
@AntiQris
@AntiQris 2 жыл бұрын
@@michelle_ca8549 yes! Move with me here!!! So I think there is more to the woman that has been hidden on purpose. I’m not a crazy I’m a seer if you feel me. I have seen history in a different way recently. I’m writing a book or 5 at once (only a writer would understand lol) 5 text books to be to the point. Because I feel that is where my hearts cry and sing loudest into the future. one on genealogy, another on the power of Women, another of the power of “the gifted”, and lastly a satirical guide to “how not to be fooled by the coming fourth Reich while still enjoying good schnitzel” (now this book seems pointless and wish I’d published it when I finished it last summer lol) I plan to cap this off with a romance of the story of my parents twisting DNA story, through pseudo-Shakespearian prose.. I’m a first cousin 15th removed to old William so I chose this route to share the weird and crazy things my forensic mind found, when unraveling my ancestry. Trust me it’s crazy. Every 11 generations my lines cross up and I have gone back 5 sets of those. The farthest 2 of course are imagined but only with a mind that Is hardcore good at seeing things how they work. Now is the absolute best time to unite all women as a world political/social power group. I can write the speeches and please let me. I receive “feelings” of knowledge and knowing flood over me for the express purpose of uplifting and empowering Woman, Mother, Womb, Makir. A group or association could be formed as an alternative “IRS” (sorta) that would become the group responsible for collecting the percentage of taxes of those whom opt out of the current tax system in favor of the alternative one coming. (I’m writing a bill as we speak to present) This bill would change the tax system to allow all those who conscientiously object to their money going toward things this new alternative tax group disagrees with. So say, the women decide no war or no exploiting kids for cheap goods etc etc Then the taxes collected from each individual would partition according to the choice of the individual tax payer. So if dirty don over here wants war planes sold to terrorists then he can vote with his money to do that, but if I’m over here crying for the babies getting bombed.. I can choose to have my taxes allocated away from such things and put into roads or healthcare etc.. so the Women’s collective becomes a government of its own accord and decides upon these big questions or war and peace to be the alternative side to what the mans world in Washington chooses to do with our taxes. Does all that make sense? Sorry I’m really good at receiving good idea but sometimes they all try to get out of my head at once. So as I started writing back to your reply.. this turned into my wacky pitch to the universal woman, a message to any who might read to consider. I can’t do very much physically in this skin anymore so I need help and this idea needs a lot of help from every woman. Men only took over a while ago, in Russia it was only 1700s and in Rome it was around 300 for example. The word for woman in Haitian Creole is Roman. That language is as old as boats and the inflated skin crafts before them. First Nations were governed by woman with men in secondary mental roles. The original Romans were scorned & widowed women. The Scarlet ones. Terrifying in their awakening. There is a power in you, Woman, that is unrealized in our world today. By design of cowardice. Designed of men who envy your velvet dresses. They are keeping a secret from us to know this power. My research in history is revealing this. Big time. I’ve got to get back to the writing before I blow my flow on a KZbin comment and not my book! Please share this idea and mold it around and make it better. We can do this and I’m here to help if anyone wants me to.

@@AntiQris Through economic change, It is hoped people will see that dependence on oil e.g. is also tied to all male-dom-religious-royalty cults...yes I said "cults." This phrase implies that women are equal to men in every aspect which is simply not true. Empowerment and respect would be better words to describe this day, not equality because it sends a faulty message to historical figures and those learning today.

@@DarkManPL Thanks. You have rightly pointed out! Inequality makes people feel vulnerable in your words 'weak' irrespective of gender. So, more power to the people should be given through Equality to end the history of the weak population. But I feel those who are already powerful and power over on the 'weak one'; are the actual weakest! Thanks for browsing into such a important video and taking your time for commenting.

@@DarkManPL Thanks! Nobody is born as a weak person. Equal opportunity can bring true empowerment. It is not about giving things free, it is about acknowledging both men and women's rights as human rights which a nation is bound to provide all without discrimination. Prioritizing one gender over the other and demining people due to their gender identity is called sexism.
@mitalidas2481

@@DarkManPL IWD is about claiming equal rights. And when it says equality it refers to both men and women. Women never wanted more or less than man. Equality doesn't prioritise hence do not demine others. But when someone says, a specific gender is weak and doesn't deserve equal rights, that is a sexist view. Thanks!
@mitalidas2481
@mitalidas2481 3 жыл бұрын
@@DarkManPL I think it is very important to define what do you mean by the word 'weak' here as you are repeatedly using this word. And I will again go back to my previous discussion as I said - No one borns as weak. Equal opportunity, equal behaviour and more decision-making positions can grow more confident girls and women. I have worked with many survivors in my life and I have seen strength in the vulnerable who are 'weak' in society's view but this is the same 'weak' women, out of whose womb we have born in this world. On the other hand, depression is a mental illness just like other illnesses. There is a stigma and shame around mental illness which is high time to break and bring change in the mindset towards it. Again women are not born depressed they have conceived that mental condition due to personal or social reasons. So, if women are weak, depressed and all the bad things then there is a need to change it for good by ensuring their rights. And tell me how many women are given the role to build cities and maintain the infrastructure that you are talking about?! These are always counted as 'men's job' and hardly any company hires women in such positions because they think they are 'Weak' so they cannot handle it. So, now women are saying give us an equal opportunity to at least try our best. But the fact is we know about the women who report but there are many men who are suffering from depression, overburden of the family as they have to act as a provider, the bread earner, they are taught from childhood that 'men do not cry' - they were forced to suppress their emotions. They even scared to go to mental health counsellor what if people laugh at them. These problems also need to be addressed which is only possible when people will understand the importance of gender balance in different roles. Equality benefits everyone which discrimination never did.

To me, Everyday is International Womens Day! I'm 16 and I obey my mom to the max, and I do everything for my sister!...She is 14. Everyday, I come home from school and the 1 st thing I do, is give my mom my phone...don't want any distractions, then I do my homework, then all the chores for that day, which must be done to my moms satisfaction. Then I do whatever she tells me to do with no back talk or arguing. With my sister, I do ALL of her chores and let her take all the credit so she gets paid for them. I clean up ALL of her messes. When she does something wrong, I take blame for it so she dont get in trouble. I do all of her homework so she can do what she wants to do! I never argue with her! When we are both home....I wait on her hand and foot....she never has to lift a finger!

@@WeatherMondacicci Reality dictates the true meaning of a word, not its advocates. In reality, feminism is not equality. Modern day feminists have amply demonstrated this by their actions. Attempting to silence men (by such childish "pranks" as pulling a fire alarm to stop someone from speaking at a scheduled event), open contempt for the male gender in general, and much more. These are the actions of feminists today. And it speaks loudly of what feminists believe.
