Cool video... One thing I don't see getting mentioned in regards to the SRT's which I think is the BIGGEST pain in the arse is carbon fibre becoming unstuck from the dash and interior, it's starts to peel off and it looks ugly. For anyone that hasn't experienced this yet, it only takes one 40 degree day with your windows up and the carbon is never the same. It happen to me on both my Jeeps and it's cheaper to replace your car then those carbon strips!

You only pay $110 a month for insurance on an SRT 😮 in New York. I'm paying that same amount on an 07 Ford Escape and I live in Virginia. WTF!!! I'm getting ripped off. I was paying $92 a month, but then they raised my price and said it was due to "inflation"

Great video man. Thinking about getting rid of my f80 and getting the srt for a daily driver. You’ve basically sold me to one at this point. Also 17mpg and the maintenance cost really isn’t so bad. Brakes and tires seem to be the most expensive part of the process which I could deal with. Hoping this would do me well during the winters here in Chicago.

Track mode disables every safety feature in the car like abs, traction, safety senors, fuel economy, park assist, and what ever else the srt offers 🙌 so u can foot down all day with out senors goin off and our ecu stopping u from red lining... when ur over taking.... I go hard in track all other modes are just normal to me now sports is fast also but still limits you in some ways so track mode is the best for full performance.

Mpg is entirely dependent on what type of driving you do. If I do all city stop and go driving I get 12 to 13 on my 5.7 jgc without a heavy gas pedal. Not good. Imagine the 6.4 is worse. If you highway drive more then mpg goes up significantly.

It really comes down to if you trust the seller or not. If they're a car guy/girl they will have a list of all PMs and service. Ask to see the list or check online via the VIN. That will tell you a lot about how it was taken care of. Aside from that drive the car to your mechanic and pay them to do a thorough inspection to see how looks. All of that will tell you if it's worth it or not. Keep in mind that the factory warranty for the power train ended at 100k so there's no warranty on anything.

Hi from Western Australia. Love your content its amazing. I just picked up my fist srt 2015. Has Boral S typ cat back,, 22 inch wheels, lowered suspension mps delete, injen intake and Diablo 98 tune, catch can. Exhaust is nice but a little to quiet for me and in the more exotic raspy crackle side , not as muscular as your car. Iam going to work with what I have to see if I can improve a little. Iam replacing the 400 cell primary cats to 100 cell. Should give me a few more HP and sound. Will get a custom tune as well. It’s my daily, headers and tune will be 3k so will go this rout first. Thoughts? Thanks for any advice.
@StraightSRT8
@StraightSRT8 3 жыл бұрын
i'm glad that my videos are reaching Australia and i'm glad that you enjoy the content. The headers will definitely open up the sound on that exhaust and make it louder. I was worried that headers with this exhaust would be too loud. As for the tune that's a must too. What you have should make for a great daily. Good power and fun, but not strictly a drag car either. As for other options, how warm does the car run? You may want to consider getting a 180 t-stat as part of the tune. Keep the engine cool and maximize your HP. As for the injen intake I'm curious to see how well that works for you, that has a metal intake pipe doesn't it? Are you protecting that from heat soak?
@dspada67
@dspada67 3 жыл бұрын
Straight SRT8 thanks very much for the reply mate. We are heading into cooler weather but I will definitely look into the having the car run cooler. The intake at this stage is nice but not sure how if any hp gains really. I often feel that it’s hard to improve on the stock unit other than a drop in. We have a good tuner here that getting great results. Will let you know what it gets with the better flowing cats.

@@dspada67 just had another idea. Did you bore out your throttle body? If not then you can hit up fastman. He will bore a stock TB out to get you a little more power. I don't recommend a new TB or a large bore since you don't have supporting mods yet for it, but definitely look into his options.

@MrLeopold1975

@@StraightSRT8 not too bad in my opinion 50/50. Have you tried a better MPG with bigger tires? I tried this in my Cherokee 4.0 1989, when normally it uses 235/75R15 and I changed to 31x10.5 and MPG improved a little
@StraightSRT8
@StraightSRT8 2 жыл бұрын
@@MrLeopold1975 associating tire diameter with MPG is tricky to do because so many variables are at play. A larger diameter clearly means you go a greater distance per revolution, but it also means the tire usually weighs more which means more rotational mass, which decreases MPG. There's also tire pressure, air temp and terrain to take into account. It sounds like a good thing for me to research and do a video on.
@MrLeopold1975
@MrLeopold1975 2 жыл бұрын
@@StraightSRT8 try this; at least it worked in my Cherokee. Traveling around 610 kilometres, my Cherokee 4.0 consumed 65 litres, even though I didn't realize tires pressure was 25 lbs in all 4 tires when it should have been 40 lbs, my fail... When I inflated them properly, I got even better MPG.... The only and only issue I found out with bigger tires was when coming down from a mountain in normal road; if I used 3rd gear I should now use 2nd gear; then I should drive down a little slower, but beside this, I far prefer bigger tires, and your Jeep SRT 8 will not feel the difference in power... Will wait for your video about this!
