You just summed up an hour of boring lecture from my accounting professor in this video. If only he made it this simple. Good job.

First of all, the style and delivery of your video, graphics, and speech are great! I hate having to decide if the information is worth listening to while watching crappy production. Second, and just as important to me, the information is ideal: the good, the bad, and the ugly. i don't know if that's just your style or if you had a mentor teach you that, but it's great. And in my case, it is exactly what I have been watching J.I.T. videos to find out. We deal with 21,000 orders a year, covering about 1000 different products. Some changeovers are really short and simple, and some are very complex and long. I want to convince my managers that we need to sacrifice a little finished inventory waste to reduce a lot of changeover waste. Thanks a million! Well, that might be over-production...

JIT is not bad or useless unless you try to apply it in such a way. The concept is useful given the right circumstances.

The company I work for uses JIT to fantastic effect even with a huge product line of new and legacy electronics equipment. We have plenty of facility to ramp up, we are not seasonal, and in effect we are our own vendor.

You can not sustain a pure just in time supply. If your orders outpace your manufacturing or supply chain then the orders will get canceled. (which will happen as the number of orders grows out of control) . You have to keep a little supply in warehouses (which costs money) to weather these events to give you time to grow the suppliers.

You need to get faster at producing quality parts. I am confident that I can increase almost any process by 20% with just in time thinking.

What if you don't have orders? we should manufacture for stock or what the workers shall do?

Improve. Use this time to improve your processes so that when orders pick up, you are stronger as a company.

It s insanity that is proclaimed by bean punchers who have NEVER actually done anything. Anything that goes wrong and your screwed and the pressure on the workforce sucks

False.

@@onthehoofhomestead Just in time hmm I know of one factory that has to have a Leer jet on permanent standby because the bean counters put that in a separate account to justify JIT. But the factory does NOT work with the system because again the bean counters wont allow an additional production line

I'm actually leaving the trucking industry because of this just in time garbage. It's completely uncalled for and it does nothing but put every single life in danger on the highway including my own.
