I'm filipino Irish and ive been trying to figure out what part of the philippines my family cames from. My surname is actually kapampangan! But my father makes it seem we are from an indigenous group such as kalinga but I don't really trust him, hes kinda a huge liar a lot. I have to get with my grandpa who comes directly from manilla and talk with him

All Pinoy came from one seed, that is why they speak the same Austronesian mother tongue/ origin. Logically civilization raised from potable water source. Just wondering if what he says is really true, how come they only occupy the "pampang" and not the main water line like "taga-ilog" do? From the mouth of "Maynilad" , inside the long and winding "Pasig", up and around the whole Laguna de Bay? Why were they in outskirt and not main stream spot for commerce and international relation? Assuming his claim if true, where is the vast influence of that culture or kingdom ... if not yabang? Any archeological finds in magnitude that can prove or show power and wealth? How about oldest grave?

Uhm, Excuse me? I would just ask what is the "basis" for saying that the Pampanga Civilization is older than the Philippine Nation? What I know is Kapampangan is also a Malay Tribe, just like their fellow Tagalogs, Visayans, Ilocanos, Igorots and Moros. Some evidences please? I don't intend to offend anyone. Thank you so much. Dakal pung Salamat.
@KirbyAraullo
@KirbyAraullo 8 жыл бұрын
+Allan Daniel Serrano There was no "Philippine Nation" before colonization. In fact, the idea of the Philippines as a nation (nation-state) only came about during our struggle against the Spaniards. The Kapampangans on the other hand, like many indigenous groups in the country, have existed long before the Europeans even learned to sail across oceans. Calling them "Tribes" is a misnomer, the more proper term is "nation" in its original meaning. Today we confuse "nation" with "nation-state." There are a lot of references to the Kapampangans from our neighboring countries even before Magellan set foot in the Visayas. The Ming Dynasty, for example, recognizes the rulers of Sulu, Butuan, and the (Kapampangan) Kingdom of Luzon as "Kings" not mere "Chieftains" unlike rulers of other places. There are also other pre-colonial references to Kapampangans found in the histories of present-day countries of Thailand and Cambodia. Another evidence would be the Candaba Adze, an archaeological treasure that is believed to be around 5,000 years old. I hope this helps.
@GaryHField
@GaryHField 8 жыл бұрын
Sir, do you mean, that the Ifugaos, Tagalogs, Visayans, Lumads, etc. are nations in their respective clans? I am just confused. The first settlers in our archipelago are the "Aetas", which is Papuan, not Malayan. Kapampangans are Malays, it is very much evident in your language. The Igorots built the Banaue Rice Terraces, thousand of years ago before the advent of Malayan settlers. How come the Kapampangans are the first to have a civilization in our nation? Thank you so much.
@Horseluv36
@Horseluv36 8 жыл бұрын
I don't think he meant that Kapampangans were the first, but that the "Kapampangan nation" is older than the "Philippine nation", as he mentioned -- "the Philippines as a nation only came about during our struggle against the Spaniards." Just my interpretation of the information stated. :)
@GaryHField
@GaryHField 8 жыл бұрын
Horseluv36+ Thank you so much for that clarification... Yes, I already understand what the good Sir is telling me, that the Kapampangan is already a nation, before our nation-state was proclaimed as a Republic. Thank you so much.
