Good luck on getting homologated by FIA CIK tho. Its a long shot. You cant wear rib protector inside the kartskin.

Bravo omar for this super interesting interview . A long past of being interested and thinking about how gain marginaly in gokart rental . I used to have a old karting suit for winter and one thiner for summer but i never found by myself an answer for the aero . Good luck for him 👍

For indoorkarting the gains are 0,1s on a 1 minute lap. For outdoor rental karting and surely for 2 stroke karts the gains should be higher because the higher the speed , the more efficient the suit will be. We will test it in a couple of months.

for karting competition homologation, the suit being fireproof is NOT required, fireproof is only for car racing. Actually it’s not allowed to kart with your homologated car racing suit and vice versa. It’s 2 totally different homologations. For karting it’s abrasion resistance that is most important. The Kartskins suits have the highest abrasion protection. If you get thrown out of your kart at 120km/h and slide for 100m on the tarmac there won’t be a hole in the suit. That’s how safe it is 👍

@@jonathanbert6502 ok, but there is high temperature proof in 3 layers suit. And it’s important. Once I was rolling with my kart and for several seconds I was in contact with an engine. It was very hurt.

@@antoniosamaranchi3223 for FIA homologation there are 6 tests in total , 1 of them is heat resistance test. The suit has to withstand 100 degrees for 10 secs to pass the test. We already did tests at 140 degrees and nothing happened to the suit 🤗

sorry that's a no from me, I wear as much fire proofing as I can when I'm on track. Every suit I have has burn holes and marks, and I also wear armour plates for my spine, ribs and knees under my suit. This might be ok for rental karting but no way am I touching a Rotax wearing that!

Why do you wear fire proofing for karting? None of the fia homologated kart suits are fire proof and generally there is a very low risk of any fire

I do agree that wearing a rib protector under this is impossible which is an issue as its required in most competitions

@@sixtenallingersandgren6674 because I have seen karts on fire. Also it's the heat protection a nice thick suit gives you, if you end up under a kart the exhaust can land on you... I have seen many suits burnt
