Will I still be able to catch up? A💡: You don’t need any previous katana martial arts experience to participate in our lessons. Seki Sensei, the instructor of the online lessons, will carefully instruct you on how to handle the katana regardless of your level. You will also be able to access all the videos of the past lessons so you can watch what every other student has learned. You can also send us videos of your progress, and Seki Sensei will be happy to give you feedback. Q❓: What is the right length of the Iaito (zinc alloy training katana) I should use? A💡: Please purchase an Iaitō at least two blocks longer than the standard length. The standard length for Seki Sensei is about 177cm, so he should use a 2.45 Shaku long katana. However, he uses a 2.6 Shaku-long katana that is supposed to be used by someone 190cm tall. If the katana is too short, it becomes too easy to draw, which is not good for training. Q❓: Can I join even if I belong to a different Ryuha style? A💡: Yes, it’s not a problem at all. The Seki Sensei himself has trained in more than five styles and various other weapons. If you don’t want others to know that you are participating, you can join the online lessons with your camera off. To have the Sensei check your progress, you can send us a video of you practicing. 🗡Join the Online Iaido Training with Seki Sensei🗡 Sign Up Here (One Lesson FREE): www.patreon.com/sekisenseiiaidotraining Interested in taking Iaido lessons directly from the 8th Dan Iaido Master with 40 years of experience in Musō Shinden Ryu, Seki sensei? Happy New Year! Just the start we needed. Thank you and well done for bringing this true Master to English speaking people (Although we should try to learn Japanese) And we believe he is the real deal!! Have been watching you for about a year, and Master and the guys for about 8 months and you have helped us in so many ways. Especially bringing your rich culture to us. It's been my dream since I was a boy to learn the way of kobudo, and as I retire next year, I will hopefully have the time and money to follow my dream for the rest of my life. Luckily, my wife wants to follow this dream and make it ours. Special person! Small problem is I feel that Asayamaichiden ryu is the one to follow under the guidance of Seki Master and the other guys in Japan. Oh well, if a task is easy is it worth doing? 🤔 Thank you again Shogo and hope the wife and kids are all good. Oh and has the latest addition been born yet? God bless you all. Take care. Stay safe 🙏 John and Kate (England)

4:03 Interesting that you said he said he trained 10 days-a-week, because Japan used to have 10-day weeks. Which ends up meaning 'everday', instead of the saying, '8 days-a-week'.

Really loving this new channel! A question/suggestion, do you believe it could be possible to have videos exclusively about the kata mentioned so that people that unfortunately can’t train with you guys could do at home? I believe you already have some videos like this up but I would love to see the 200 kata haha😅😁

It is so incredibly rare to see kobudo styles let alone true kenjutsu these days. Too many styles and practitioners stopped after ww2. It is incredible to see another fully functional style. I train a form of無外流kenjutsu, but have no formal records. I would love to share our histories.
体術もありますが、空手や柔道のようないわゆる体術ではなく体の使い方を指すようです。 There is also Taijutsu, but it seems to refer to the use of the body rather than so-called Taijutsu such as karate or judo.

history is a hot topic, and if a culture has a martial art to explore its past its lucky. HEMA would be ecstatic to have a living person be able to interpret the manuscripts left by weapon masters long dead
