That's an interesting idea - how do you mean by past vs present? As in, the past of the antebellum Southern aristocracy vs the post-WWII present of a more multicultural, immigrant America?

@@JenChan yes! also the tension between Blanche's past and her unstable present/ future in New Orleans and the relative connotations of the shifts in culture, female expectations, etc :)
