To add to the utter terror of that number: That is just from the tail-end of the war. Even if it's due to the fact all sides were tossing in the heaviest they've got left, John-117 had two and a half decades to raise that count. There's plenty of Covenant ships, stations, bunkers, space elevators, armadas, armies, and possibly even cities he would've had to blow up during the course of the war. We know Spartan-II Modus Operanti for finishing missions is blowing them the heck up. As others noted, Admiral Preston Cole and Grey Team reach his kill count, if not outright beat it, but he's one to willingly send himself into the mouth of hell so others don't have to... and somehow, survive and win. To add to it all, in Silent Storm, John-117 himself doesn't even believe he's the best -- simply the most famous one. The average Spartan is just as much of a beast.

A minor count challenge (not that it will matter after seeing the total). For CE and 3, you probably should have subtracted any ground kills from the crew compliment of destroyed vessels since it is reasonable to assume that the combatants faced in gameplay were units sent from those ships. So you probably counted a few hundred twice since they were counted as killed on the ground by direct action, then recounted as part of the ship crews who would have died when their ships went down. Not to take anything away from the video, it is still a mind numbingly high tally and you went into excellent detail. You're a sucker for details though, so I just figured I'd add a few to consider for next time :)

One minor error: Sgt. Johnson was not killed by Chief during the destruction of the Pillar of Autumn.

Approximately 14.368% of current the population. You flipped your denominator and numerator. This was a fantastic video! it's kind of terrifying to have that kind of a kill count though.

Honestly insane how high that number really is. Sure on the surface we can all figure the kill count for ingame is probably in the thousands in most cases, and we can imply the crews of large ships or HC counting as well, but it's crazy to actually tally them up. That's some real dedication. Small error at the end though. Earth's population is about 7.38 times what the chief killed in the games, but in terms of percentage, it would be about 13.5% of the current population of Earth
@ogrefreak52222 жыл бұрын
Love the video. Just a little correction on the math. Approximately 13.47% of earth's current population (approximately 8 billion). But I still love it
@killertank21862 жыл бұрын
This huge number is even his actual total kill count though. This is just over the course of the games+cutscenes. You gotta remember that chief was active and killing since *way* before the start of the games.

In regards to Halo 3, we know from the short story Sacrifice that the crew of the Anodyne Spirit survived. It's also uncertain how many flood forms on High Charity survived Halo 3, but we know enough did to become a threat in Halo Wars 2.

To be fair there were about twelve or so survivors from the Pillar Of Autumn, including Johnson.. Makes ALL the difference.

I think Chief is responsible for the deaths of the remnant covenant in the first of his missions when the Argent facility goes super nova, maybe not though. @acendantoverlord57372 жыл бұрын
@@extremosaur I’m pretty sure theirs dialogue suggesting the fleet would be caught in the blast. Even then if theirs still implication that’s more to go on then saying it wasn’t destroyed. Considering the fleet doesn’t make a reappearance and 343 was writing the covenant out of the story being all destroyed and what not, it seems rather silly to think of any other outcome for that fleet. For all intents and purposes the fleet was destroyed.

@AhsokaFanboy11388 ай бұрын
I would add four million when he blew up the Uneven Elephant and 488 ships. 6600 other kills, given the ships engulfed when he destroyed the Argent Moon, making seven thousand for Halo 5, for a game total of 1077618241.

If you put Chief's kill, in person, on a sentient and intelligent beings like the Covenant, Humans, Banished, Guilty Spark and Harbinger, exclude mindless drones and zombies like the Forerunners, Promethean and Flood, in the games, that number would be less than 10,000. But with that number, Chief's won't go to the heavens, because He is the Demon.
@TonyC23282 жыл бұрын
10:51 I forgot which book it was, but there's a story about an Elite onboard this elevator. He has this whole backstory where he and a grunt abandoned their units or something. So they get a mission from the Prophets to go kill Master Chief on the Pillar of Autumn to redeem themselves, I think? The grunt doesn't follow him when he catches Chief's scent, so the Elite goes on alone except the grunts with him on the elevator. Then when he comes face to face with Chief, you just blow him away with a Shotty or Rocket Launcher so his entire mission was just a waste lol.... But in the book the grunt is just casually sailing away on a ghost in the distance before the explosion goes off and he's left reminiscing how an Elite and a Grunt could become close friends.

Love that you put this much effort in to this, really surprised at the numbers! Only small criticism is the halo 3 numbers and the criticism is utterly irrelevant compared to the high charity numbers but if i recall truths fleet was destroyed in the orbital battle, so most of those would have gone to R'tas Vaduum. Againt. I am aware that this is effectivly nothing, in comparison to high charity. Really love your videos keep up the awesome work!
