I hope one day there is an opportunity for Dr. Cherie to do one of these breakdowns on a ENFP character, i'm so interested.

I'm an ISTJ who has suffered loss/trauma around parents as an adolescent, grieved for around a decade as she did and I see SO MUCH of myself in Zanab! Even the struggles she's shared around dating (like going out and no one talking to her, yet most everyone in the free world thinks she's a stunner and a catch). So wild!

You inspire me so much! Thank you for putting your incredibly enlightening insights out into the world. It’s helped me understand myself more deeply (beyond just being an “INFJ”) and find more healthy ways to interpret incompatibilities and dynamics in my personal relationships.

Your insights are brilliant. I’m struggling with an ISTP that I’ve been with for 16 years. We have similar trust issues but, his response to not trusting ME is to cheat and not feel bad about it. Toxic.

I’m a female INTP who was forced to develop my Fe due to rejection of my personality when I was young. I relate a lot to Colleen, I have dominant Ti so I very much know my goals and values but I tend to use my Fe a lot in interacting with others. However, I use it so much to try and hide my more dominant functions from others that aren’t as easily acceptable that I get tired and people often leave when they realize that I don’t often use Fe. I morph myself into what people want at first but when I can’t anymore because of my Ti, my relationships with people end. It is interesting how such a “different type” can sound so similar.

Dr. Cherie, I just discovered your channel and I've watched your breakdowns of the casts of "Love Is Blind" and "The Ultimatum". Thank you for sharing your thoughts and insights! I'm an Ni dom, and I noticed that there are rarely, if ever, high intuitive cognitive placements in these kinds of shows, specifically LOB. You would think that the sensory - especially Se types - would be at the biggest disadvantage. The entire premise is that love is, well...blind. I suppose that's why I find analyses of the casts and happenings to be more interesting than the actual shows, themselves. The breakdowns look at the process in retrospect as related to the outcomes or predicted outcomes rather than the journey itself. Do you think that high Ni or Ne users would be deemed too boring for producers and most audiences, or that they would also find the process focus difficult? I noticed, like some of your other viewers, that the high sensing users tend to get caught up in the most chemistry and drama, which would explain why they get more screen time. I'd love to get your take on this. Thanks for your content, and I look forward to your future videos.

Hi Lauren, thank you for your thoughtful comment! There are several possibilities to answer your question of why these shows mostly feature S doms: 1) There are way more S doms in the population to start with, 2) Screen time requires a certain amount of presence, a command on people’s attention, giving an experience = Se, 3) We are all intrigued by our lower functions because we aspire to them, thus the concept underlying LIB, the pure connection of souls, the intangible, ie. belonging to the abstract Intuitive realm, would be fascinating for S doms. Just some thoughts off the top of my head!

Not related to mbti but Zanab truly blows me away. Few xSTJ’s in my life have been as expressive/vulnerable and self-aware as she is. Perhaps because she had such a tragic loss and such a loving stepmom.

Zanab’s mom is half mom half amazing. She knows exactly how Zanab feels with Cole and his parents without ever meeting any of them. She helped Cole realise that he is being a self centered d’bag without offending him.

Very excited for this!! 😍 I'm listening to the ESFJ immature part and I just can't relate to Colleen. Sadly some ESFJs give a bit of bad rep to the rest of us who are all about depth, harmony, connections ect... looking forward to seeing the rest 😃
@DrCherieTypes
@DrCherieTypes Жыл бұрын
Colleen is a “Top heavy” ESFJ. She only uses her dominant functions. Your upbringing and personal challenges will determine how much you use the rest of your functions. This shapes your personality, which is a life long journey. Compare Natalie and Zanab, they have the same personality type, and they are similar and different at the same time. You are your individual unique self. No one person can represent a global population of ESFJs.

I really hope you let us know if Cole and Colleen would have been better off together. I honestly think Matt's ex-wife cheated on him to get a fool-proof out of their marriage. He gives me abusive vibes and he always minimizes his part in fights and fights in general- he literally will call them "little hiccups" and he was like screaming and black out drunk and ready to just say nope I'm out....but- Colleen thrives off smoothing it over or is scared to leave. Either way- after watching all the episodes surrounding LIB3- I'm worried for Colleen..I really hope that her parents are offering her safe haven if need be, or letting her know if she doesn't stay married, it's not a failure and just acknowledging she wants/needs different things. I feel badly for her- she really just seems scared of him 😔

Oooh this was sooo interesting I start to see why my ISFJ sis and her ESFP boyfriend like in eachoter. The Fe and Fi and Si and Se. (even tho what to me is appearent, their maturity seems not balanced at all, and this could have to do with their development of their lower stack, so I see). I also learned why I like INTJ's as much.. Even tho their blindspot is Fe. It's the thinking dominant and feeling secundairy.. But fi needs to be very socially developed for me to feel heard and understand as my preference seems to lie with Fe still. Also I figuered out how people pleasing can look desperate. But how being warm to everyone can be such a deal breaker is still mindblowing to me. To me it feels it sais mostly something about the other as they feel easily jealous and also there are differences between being warm and being vulnerable and I believe Colleen tried to make that clear to the ISTP when she was so hurt by his distrust. To me I figuered people who don't see the difference between being kind and flirting are people who expect transactional kindness and are not kind themselves but this puts and other dimention to it, that they might just have their feelings on the low end of the stack. So that's pretty sad actually to realise people can not like me because I am mostly giving positive attention to most people.. As I believe we could make the world a bit better by doing so. I also get now that to get out of unwanted situations I need to take some time to go to my lowest Ti function to do what's best for me and why I focuss so much on the why to understand the situation better so I could learn from it and not repeat my mistakes (Ni). I also believe that has to do with my trickster and lack of Si. I am now 30 and am finally catching up by putting much efford in developing my Ti to balance our my Fe. By being more continuous of my needs, boundries and standards, instead of it appearing when it is too late basically. So this video was very helpfull on so many levels, the information, the applying to the people, for me to apply on other people and on to myself. - ENFJ

I’m so glad you got so much insight and I commend your self awareness and willingness to introspect 😊 Just wanted to note: If the person can’t like you for giving attention to everybody, as you said, it’s sometimes THEIR problem, their own insecurity, and not about you. If you can be clear about who you are, what you stand for, so you don’t sway and bend every time the wind blows, then there’s no issue being Fe - in fact, as you said, the world needs it ❤️

Hot babies? For real Cole? 😆 I am really looking forward to the SNL version of him. They should also get two actresses who basically look like sisters to play Zanab and Colleen. One should have an old-school Kim K. tan and the other should have something milder like Kendall while he's talking about how that one is so much hotter than the darker (Zanab) one.

Here’s a popular theory: People tend to self test, then use themselves as reference to type others. Because a lot S people self test as N type they read others as N too.

Ok also last thing- while I wouldn't wish Matt on anyone- I think that Matt and Zanab would have been better together because they're both kinda crazy and maybe they would thrive in that situation? But obviously no, because while I do not like Zanab or her mental manipulation, she deserves more than actually being treated meanly. I think we really need to come for Vanessa and Nick Lachey because this show gets progressively more dangerous for the women who are on the show- and that's not fair to them. 😞
