In this video, you will learn what is meditation? How it should be incorporated in life? And how to practice meditation? Many people have a misconception about the idea of meditation. They think that meditation means focus. In this video, you will understand the true meaning of meditation and how to do it.
Meditation is a state. It is the confluence of mind, body, and soul. When you close your eyes, your mind gets occupied with many thoughts. Thoughts of our friends, family, friends, colleagues, places, songs, videos, difficulties, success and many more! When you let your thoughts flow, you watch them surrounding the room. A state reaches when you become just an observer of these thoughts. These thoughts don’t affect you anymore. Your inner-self is free of thoughts. And this state is called Meditation.
But this is not as easy as it sounds. Then how should we practice Meditation?
You can learn meditation in two ways. Active Meditation and Passive Meditation. While learning Active Meditation, it involves some moments of the body and mind like dancing or catharsis, and follow some steps to reach the state of meditation. After the movements, you either sit or lie down quietly and this leads to the state of meditation.
A Sufi mystic known as Jabbar came up with a style of Active Meditation called Gibberish Meditation. According to this meditation, you have to speak a language that you don’t know. A gibberish language! By blabbering gibberish, you can let all your emotions out and whatever will remain in you is peace. After spending 10-15 minutes in this practice, you can now enter the state of Vipassana. What is Vipassana, will be explained shortly in Passive Meditation. Watch this video to practice Active Meditation.
In Passive Meditation, all the activities of Active Meditations are bypassed and you directly follow the last step of sitting silently to achieve the state of meditation. And this can be practised by concentrating on your breathing. Slowly, your thoughts leave you and you enter the state of meditation.
The most famous technique of Passive Meditation is Vipassana. It is a Buddhist technique to give you an “insight into the true nature of reality”. And it is followed by having an insight into your body, your breathing, and your soul. When you reach the state of meditation, it may happen that being beginner, the state of thoughtlessness won’t last for long. But with practice, it increases. Watch this guided meditation video to practice Vipassana.
We live in a world where everyone is fighting hard to sustain a good life. People are working hard to earn money, to foster good relationships, good education and lots more. But if any of these things don’t work out, people lose the meaning of life. It all about maintaining a sound mind, body, and soul. Because when your mind and soul are calm, whatever happens in the outside world doesn’t affect you at all. You become a divine and happy soul. And that is only possible by Meditation.
