My wife died of metastatic breast cancer 6 months ago. After the diagnosis in July 2021 that it has spread to liver she survived only for 14 months. she was under chemotherapy in one of the best hospitals in India throughout and the last Ultra sound scan done in August 22 showed much improvement as stated by the treating doctor, but she died 45 days later. Could her life have been prolonged at least for one more year with better quality drugs? She was also having Rheumatoid Arthritis for some time. Could her RA have hastened her end?

What is the difference between metastatic and metastasis? Both spread to other parts of the body, so I am s bit confused by the terms.
