When will the Connect System be back in stock?? It seems to be sold out everywhere!

It's been that way for several months. Maybe they are just waiting to drop their BP-TRX but it's been so delayed I am not sure it's ever coming out. Or they are just stuck on a ship waiting to get through the Suez Canal :p

Thanks for putting this up. I’m interested in the w.lav pro mics but I’m still a little hazy on microdot. So say if I wanted to plug in a w.lav pro to a camera this would come with the microdot then I would just get a 3.5mm locking sennheiser style microdot adapter from any company and it should work? Thanks!

@1:40 "Most lava failures are at the connector." That is my experience too. But all the failures I have encountered were at the point where the lava wire enters the lava connector. This happens because the wire gets bent back and forth while it is being used. So you showed swapping out the adapter but not the connector on the lava. I don't see how that's going to help if the lava wires are broken when they enter into that lave connector. Still, all the other advantage to your adapters sound useful to me.

Interesting. It’s quite the irony isn’t it. The simple stuff is the most overlooked. Considering the lifehacks and aftermarket products made for addressing the issue of iPhone and MacBook cables fraying I’m surprised nobody hasn’t implemented this on mic connectors. Has anyone tested springs on their mics as a means of avoiding this?

a previous microdot system I had, had a small spanner to tighten the connection. is that something you find is always necessary or do you find tightening by hand sufficient on your mics? thanks

#mailbag - First off - thanks for making this video - it actually cleared something up for me. However my question would address my confusion - I have the Deity Connect that I use for my Amazon Live stream on Tuesday nights. Recently one of the connectors broke so I wanted to replace / upgrade. While I was on a film set - the sound guy swore by the W. Lav Pro so I figured I pick it up but when I went to order it, was very confused which adapter to get for the Connect. (DA35 i realize now). My question is why don't you label the DA35 for Sennheiser / Deity Connect instead of just Sennheiser - since I'm using Deity. Anyway - love the brand - I use the Connect, a D3Pro and D4 Duo on a regular basis.

I've been digging the DA35 with my W.lav Pros. I cant quite afford Zaxcom wireless but have still be wishing I could record my lavs on-body in addition to transmitting via UHF. I've got some small bodypack-type 32bit recorders by zoom and Tentacle with TRS connectors. On the last shoot, I connected my lavs into the recorder packs and then output the recorders into my senny transmitters. It was okay but a noticeable drop in sound quality coming from the transmitters. Is there anyone selling a microdot to 2x TRS splitter cable?

I'm on board with microdot, especially being a Sony user and the odd mic wiring. The W.Lav Pro sounds much better than stock mic. A Sony tech stated that his DPA mic did not turn as much and feel as secure with the Deity adapter, .8 turns on the Deity adapter vs 1.7.

While I like the versatility of Microdot, I dont think it is fair to say that they are more robust than lavs terminated to a connector that transmitters use right away. kzbin.info/www/bejne/gWHVdIilnaaJrdU Now there are two points of failure. The Microdot adapter and the end of the lavaliere. I dont know how you guys do your microdot ends, but the DPAs are glued, so the only way to service them is to get a whole new microdot connector, whereas the Lemo3 are serviceable by an audio repair shop and 3,5mm I can repair myself.
@zoanyway3 жыл бұрын
You're right - it's not remotely "fair to say" since I had the talent break of two of the four DA35 connectors I put onto set for the first time last week. Loved the lavs, hated the connectors, since the lavs became instantly useless because I didn't have any spare DA35 connectors.
@zoanyway3 жыл бұрын
So sorry, but the DA35 is a TERRIBLE, FRAGILE, FAILURE-PRONE design. I bought 4 Deity lavs at Hotrod Camera two weeks ago for a feature shoot last week. One standard, two 'Pro' and one Micro. One DA35 died on day 1, broken off by the talent leaning back into a chair. A 2nd one broke two days later, again, talent simply leaning against a wall. The first one was on a Senn G4, the second one that broke off was on a Deity Connect transmitter. Both lavs still work, but without the DA35 adapters, they were completely useless. I had to revert to the much bulkier Sennheiser lavs which is exactly why I bought the slimmer Deity lavs in the first place. Awful, awful first experience, and even though I love the sound, price, and size of the Deity lavs themselves, the Microdot connector to 3.5mm screwdown Sennheiser connector is a GREAT BIG FAIL in my experience.
