I just discovered your channel. Coincidentally, I just witnessed a red tailed hawk sitting on a post that was getting mobbed by a single Mockingbird and several Swifts. Where I live it's usually Blue Jays and Mockingbirds that do the mobbing work so it was a surprise to see Swifts teaming up with the Mockingbird. They finally chased it away. On the other hand, I've seen a Red Tailed Hawk mobbing a Raven here a couple of times so I guess it's a tactic for all when the need suits it. Thanks for the informative video.

I’ve seen 3 crows mobbing a red tailed hawk in flight. I’ve seen one crow squawking at a RTH while it was eating another bird. I’ve heard blue jays warn other birds of a cooper’s hawk nearby. I love when birds show us humans how bada$$ they really are!

I've seen it a few times. Small birds (I'm not sure what they were) mobbing a Greater Roadrunner in NM. And then numerous times ravens mobbing an owl that liked to sleep in a tree outside my window. The interaction between the ravens and owl were really fascinating. I always knew when it was happening because of the sounds of the ravens

Most interesting mob I ever saw was a mass influx of American Crows to an area back in the forest. From my vantage point I could see incoming crows responding to the alarm from all directions. Curiosity got the best of me and I started bushwhacking into the woods in that direction. It was their old nemesis a Great Horned Owl in a tree being harrassed. However, there was a Red-shouldered Hawk up above circling and calling above the fray. I researched and RSHA are also victims of GHOW predation on their eggs and nestlings. Seemed to me the RSHA and AMCR were allies for that moment.

Where I live there is an extended family of Crows. They're very talkative and fun to watch. About two years ago I saw them mobbing a Red Tailed Hawk. I felt sorry for the hawk. It was out numbered and outgunned. For a few minutes I thought I was going to see two murders in one day. But, the hawk got away.

I lived in a rural area and had my local American Crow family I watched through the seasons and for 13 years. Saw the crows try to trick a Red-shouldered Hawk off a rabbit it had just killed. They didn't succeed but gave it a good try. Researched it and this is an old Crow trick, lol.

Years ago I used to see mockingbirds mob crows. These guys may be small, but they are aggressive and fearless, especially during nesting season. They are also known to attack people who get too close to their nests for their liking, my sister once said it happened to her.

Yesterday at dusk I heard some mockingbirds freaking out and figured it was a snake but it turned out to be an 🦉. I was surprised how close I was able to get to it before the mockingbirds drove it away.

I’ve been mobbed by red winged blackbirds. I’ve also seen them mobbing osprey. And crows mobbing something a couple hundred yards away. Couldn’t see what the target was. Probably an owl? And starlings flock a lot, which can convert to mobbing in a split second. Courtesy of Half Vast Flying

I've been mobbed by redwing blackbirds, too. They have bad tempers around their nests.

The odds are it is an owl but hawks can be mobbed also.

the local park has Blue Jays, Ravens, Crows, Black-Billed Magpies, Ospreys and Merlins. Over the years I've seen them ALL on both ends of the mob. More recently, I was in SK and saw SO many Red Tailed Hawks being chased by what I'm guessing were Kingbirds. Often the smaller bird would get right up on the hawk's back, almost riding the bigger bird. That was pretty cool. Great video, thanks for sharing 😅❤

I was just flying my RC plane today, and my plane was mobbed by a few small birds. (No birds were harmed).

Yesterday, I saw two mocking birds team up with two other birds (unknown type) all against a red-tail hawk. When the hawk fled, he made a 90 degree turn between trees, in an attempt to shake the pesky little birds. It was a sight to behold. Later in the day, the mockingbirds started fussing with me! I showed them that I could launch a shovel high into a tree and I think that they got the point.

Very interesting 👍 !. Big birds don't seem to be really molested by the little ones. Yes I saw Magpies mobbing Crows and vice-versa. Very tough because almost same sizes 😮.
