One group of Catholic priests broke like a million rules according to their own religion and were called out and punished. Overall Catholic priests are great people. There is a bigger problem with pedophile teachers and coaches than one group of evil 'priests' who were condemned and punished by the rest of the Catholics and priests, and were going completely against the religion they claimed to preach. Problem is if you get one gay priest in a high position, he can start letting in other gay priests then there is a whole group and them in an area. Usually such things are stopped or caught early on when a bad person tries to fake their way into the priesthood, but you can't read people's minds and once they get power they can start messing with things and if they are far enough away from the rest, they can get away with things easier.
