For example, I was born in Germany, but my father is from the United States and I have citizenship by descent. I have 2 nationalities?

If you were born in Germany but your father is from the United States, you could potentially have dual nationality, meaning you would hold both German and U.S. citizenship. However, the specific rules regarding dual citizenship can vary depending on the citizenship laws of both Germany and the United States. In general, Germany recognizes the principle of "jus sanguinis," which means that citizenship is primarily based on the nationality of the parents rather than the place of birth. So, if your father is a U.S. citizen at the time of your birth, you may be eligible for U.S. citizenship by descent. On the other hand, the United States follows the principle of "jus soli," which grants citizenship to individuals born on U.S. soil, regardless of their parents' nationality. As a result, you may also be considered a U.S. citizen by birth, depending on the specific circumstances and relevant U.S. laws in place at the time of your birth. It's important to note that citizenship laws can be complex and subject to change. Therefore, it is advisable to consult with the relevant embassies, consulates, or immigration authorities of both Germany and the United States to determine your specific citizenship status based on your circumstances.

If you change your citizenship that means you also you nationality?
@theosophy-q4z Жыл бұрын
Yes, changing your citizenship typically results in a change of your nationality as well. Citizenship and nationality are often used interchangeably, as they refer to the legal and political status of an individual in relation to a specific country. When you acquire citizenship in a new country, you usually become a national of that country, which means your nationality changes accordingly. Nationality typically determines your allegiance, rights, and obligations to a particular nation-state. It is tied to your legal and social identity, and it can affect various aspects of your life, such as voting rights, access to certain benefits, and legal protections. Therefore, when you change your citizenship, you are essentially changing your affiliation and connection to a specific nation, thereby altering your nationality.

One question: India is a county with a very diverse multicultural society. So, how would you consider India as an identity? I mean identity-wise, there are many societies that live in India but their identity is different from one another? I think the term 'nationality' is wrongly perceived and defined all over the world. In my humble opinion, India is a state with societies having different identities but sharing some common values or agreeing to live together in a defined territory and system of governance. So, as long as those societies living in a defined territory under the same system of governance can be considered they belong to the same nationality for simplicity purposes but this doesn't mean they have the same identity. It is not logically correct to consider nationality as the direct identity of society. What do you think?

My dad is american my mom is Turkish i was born and raised in America and i'm a American citizen. I visit Turkey every year for 2 week. Do i say im American or half Turkish half American ?? Im confused
@ΚωνσταντίνοςΦωτιάδης-δ1ω4 жыл бұрын
Then you're American. Because first of all you would look like a foreigner to the Turkish and secondly, which nation would you consider homeland? America, which you were born and raised, or Turkey a country that you never lived there.

But America has also the mindset that your heritage is your nationality, because the US is a multi-cultural country. While in Europe, everyone follows a common culture and language, no matter if you're any different race. For example, a Black French, would be still French because he follows the French culture.

You are an American CITIZEN by naturalization. The only question to answer is, what is your Nationality? And there isn’t a state on Earth that can determine that answer for you that genetics didn’t answer already. Nature is law.

There is no undisputed definition for state. It is determined by the legitimate use of force. Nation + State = CITIZENSHIP Mother+Father= NATIONALITY Nature is law.

Nationality are your rights. Citizenship are your privileges. NATionality is the inHERited capacity to life and liberty, that ONLY a MOTHER can grant via NATivity, for it is SHE who births ALL of humanity/NATION(s) carried in HER womb. There is but ☝🏾 CULTURE. And that is the cultivation of humanity’s experience, expressed throughout our many unique HERitages in the extended FAMILY of nations on EARTHplane 🌏. You are who your mother is. Honor both your mothers and fathers to become the privilege most obliged. Peace ☮️ 🖖🏾✌🏾

Nation is a claim by the governemtn of certain group of people. There can be the same major group of people who has same culture and religion but live in different many countries. Nation or country is NOT a thing. It is just some form of banner but it is not you or humanity. And politician exploits that to gain their benefit. Leading farmer's sons to die in war while the politician son stay in big home.
