very well explained, better than those who read a bunch of papers than read them to people that have not a lot of background in the field ...

How does NFV and SDN play a role in network slicing? are multiple technologies needed
@jackladd43324 жыл бұрын
So, who uses it and how do they slice the network into portions? Didn't you think to ask those questions? How else would this information be useful?

Hey, Jack. This was intended only to provide a quick definition. If you'd like more info, I'd be happy to do a longer video! --Juliet

Jack, I'm not sure I understand the benefit of network slicing. Of course different users/apps have different requirements regarding amount of data (per second or aggregated over a month), but this is already managed based on granted QoS, policy control and tracking of data consumption. Why would we need another feature (i.e. network slicing) for this task? It would seem that network slicing addresses another dimension of managing load while assuring that granted service is maintained. In other words: even prior to the introduction of network slicing, an IoT device got the bandwidth it is paying for and offered through contract - not more and not less -, rather than "stealing" lots of bandwidth from others. Is the motive of network slicing to optimize platform and infrastructure configuration and architecture to assure that required QoS for all UEs and Data Flows is met under all network load conditions (deterministically), which is difficult or impossible to achieve when the network is very loaded and the variety of QoS in a single network is large?

If u see your internet speed currently, it might be say 100 mb/s. So this bandwidth is given to you. Now u plan to send email, which requires 100 times less bw. Network slicing will ensure that u get only say 1 mb/s, and those u r playing online games gets remaining bw.
@agarvipul2 жыл бұрын
Iot devices never got persistent bw. There has always been speed fluctuations as u observe while using internet. 5 G ensures that.

Is the network slicing automated by the network providers?
@kyahAndoy4 жыл бұрын
I think they will put a machine learning to automate the network slicing
