I got signposted to operation courage, they said they would help but didn't even follow up with what they said they would do, East Yorkshire crisis team tell me to ring North Yorkshire North Yorkshire tell me to ring east Yorkshire, now I'm sat here with my house smashed to smithereens and no help, yesterday I was sat in my room with 2 bbq trying to go to sleep but woke up, it's a disgrace all these places offering help yet I've received none for 2 years leaving me estranged from my family and friends, if anything the mental health services have left me worse off, most days I don't eat, I've no car, no bus routes and I'm actually afraid to ring for help now as I know it will leave me more frustrated and suicidal than before, op courage, what do you actually do? Nothing in my experience

To all veterans PLEASE avail yourself of the help and support out there! There are so many support networks and veterans charities willing to help. We miss the camaraderie and support of our mates in the Forces don’t we? And civilian life can be a real challenge after our well organised life in the Forces. These veterans organisations understand this. It is the right and the strong thing to do to get in contact with them.
