Author of Understanding Postpartum Psychosis: A Temporary Madness, volunteers with Postpartum Support International as their Legal Resources Coordinator and as a State Coordinator for Connecticut. With others,Twomey is currently working to create a Maternal Mental Health Coalition in Connecticut.
TERESA M.TWOMEY, JD, volunteers with Postpartum Support International (PSI) as the Legal Resources Coordinator and as a State Coordinator for Connecticut. Currently she is part of a workgroup intent on creating a Maternal Mental Health Coalition in Connecticut. In 2009, Praeger published her book, Understanding Postpartum Psychosis: A Temporary Madness, which includes medical, legal and historical views and first-person stories and has been called a seminal work regarding this illness. Twomey has written articles for blogs and magazines and is currently working on a novel. She teaches at Southern Connecticut State University and has an amazing husband and three wonderful daughters.
In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience.
