We’re often asked to help clients with probate matters. In Scotland the legal term we use for Probate is actually Confirmation. In this video I’m going to explain the confirmation process, and help you understand the steps you may need to take after someone close to you has passed away.
The information in this video will be useful if you are an Executor. Even a relatively straightforward estate can take from 6 months to a year to deal with, and people often find it is helpful to get professional support from a solicitor.
To speak to one of our team of friendly solicitors about our executry services simply follow the link in the description below to fill out a contact form and we will be in touch to discuss your particular requirements.

The executors are usually named in the deceased person’s Will. If there is no Will the court will usually appoint a close relative to be the executor.
To be able to apply for Confirmation the Executors have to prepare an Inventory of all the deceased’s assets including their value at the date they passed away, as well as identifying any debts owed by the deceased.
