This event, part of the 'Conversations with Modern Stoicism' series, was a Zoom call that brought together participants from around the world to learn and interact. The session featured guest speaker Daniel Fryer, who delved into Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy (REBT) and its connections with Stoicism. He provided an overview of REBT's origins, principles, and practical applications, explaining the ABCDE model (Adversity, Beliefs, Consequences, Disputing, and Effective rational outlook) and emphasizing the importance of challenging irrational beliefs. The Q&A session touched on various topics, including ethical implications, differences between REBT and CBT, humor in therapy, and practical integration of REBT in daily life. Additionally, the discussion explored the relevance of Stoicism in modern therapy and the integration of mindfulness practices. The event concluded with breakout room discussions, allowing participants to reflect and share their insights.
