Yes most hybrid/plug in hybrid/ electric cars have it. It can make your brakes last a really long time

The electric motor is an induction motor. It uses magnets to create a field that makes a rotating shaft create torque which powers the drive. When you remove your foot from the gas, you stop demanding power from the drive but the magnets are still creating rotation. There is a device attached to the motor that detects when power supplied is higher than power demanded, when this happens it inverts the signal, causing these magnets to reverse polarity. This causes the torque to work in reverse Instead of solely using friction to stop like a gas engine, an electric engine can essentially "reverse" itself and act as a generator. When it does this, it also reduces torque to the wheels by redirecting the kinetic energy back into the battery. Hope this helps
