I'm 0+ and had anemia with my 1st pregnancy, however my second pregnancy I was told I hv issues with my red blood cell which might affect my baby in future and in other to prevent that I hv to be taken a shot of 2 kinds. 1 for monthly and 2, for daily basis. Am 26w5D. I don't know which rh I belong to? Can you please help me out to know what exactly is going on with me.

This is the best explanation I’ve heard so far. And I only wish I had known this. During my childbearing years. I’m RH neg. I miscarried twins @16 weeks. With my first pregnancy. But my family doctor never mentioned my blood type. She never gave me the shot. Luckily when my son was born through c/section the surgeons figured it out. And we’re not impressed that my family doc. Didn’t notify them. My son was jaundiced as was mentioned in the vid, and blue. But thank the good Lord he is he is a healthy 40yr old today 🙏🏼🙏🏼

@@nanaupginn-boudreau31 my condolences. I lost a daughter around 6 months I didn't get the shot during my pregnancy but was given a few days after delivery. I agree a good presentation but she said there is no risk to the rh positive baby if it's the first pregnancy. I had no autopsy so I do not know my daughter's blood type. This was almost 35 years ago.

Rh- women do not have a "disease" it's just a blood type.

I believe the reason rh negative is incompatible with rh positive blood is b/c we where not supposed to breed or mix with these different types. The Bible explained this to people but they didn't listen. The RhoGAM allows this incompatibility to happen, which is not natural.

O- here. I was given the shot at 28 weeks and am being told about another at 32 weeks. Is this accurate or should I be questioning this more? I knew I would have to receive the 1st, and perhaps another 1 after my baby's birth, but another 1 in a month span has me questioning.

Hey, I'm from India. I'm O- as well. I had a baby last year. I was given the shot at 28 weeks and I was told the next shot would be given to me after delivery. Thankfully my baby was O- so I didn't get the shot. I think you should talk to your gynaecologist about it. As per my research you're only given two shots. One at 28 weeks and the next after delivery.

@@roselineobichinenyenwa3066 make sure she gets one in the first trimester when spotting it’s common but if your rh - like me my hubby is rh + dr already told me my body found the little guy and won’t be born this time if she has spotting like normal first trimester you need that RhoGRAM shot if you don’t you risk miscarriage I didn’t know that either I had no idea my partners blood type so if there spotting in first trimester go get that shot or risk other risks !

Hi , In my case my blood group was change form - to + , when really affected me . I 'm RH - mother my baby's blood group O+ just like his father. A woman has the choice to take this shot, you make it sound like there is no option for a woman to decline. Also, a woman does not need to take this shot during pregnancy for it to be effective. Unless there is an event where blood could be transferred such as a car accident or fall, there is no reason why a woman needs the shot during pregnancy. There are very few low quality studies that show the safety of the fetus when administered the shot antenatally and the dosage given in the studies was 10 times less than the standard dose provided today in the US. Additionally, there are no studies following up for long term effects on the child’s immune system. Numerous studies have shown that small amounts may cross the placenta, why do you occult this info? If a woman is not planning on having anymore babies after an RH positive, and especially if she has had a tubal ligation, why on Earth would she still need the shot? Or if the father is confirmed to be RH negative? Why would you unnecessarily expose a woman to blood products? This information is based on the routine standardization protocols set forth by the industrialized medical industry that does not put one iota of effort into individualized care.

I miscarried because of it.. I have so many questions like could I still get pregnant in the future? Would I be able to carry a baby to full term and Give birth to a healthy baby, would I need to have a shot frequenty so my body won't basically reject the baby and fight it off?

You can! I miscarried in 2017 & was never told why. I got pregnant again in 2020 & almost miscarried again but thankfully my OB saved my pregnancy with a rhogam shot in the beginning & at 20something weeks. Got pregnant 9 months after having my first & did the same. Both healthy babies 🫶🏼 sending hugs & positivity your way!

@@jasminerodman just let your OB know as soon as your pregnant, & at your first appointment request the shot due to your rh type. & for my full term pregnancy, at the beginning I started bleeding & passed a blood clot (I thought it was the sack). But we found out my rh type & I got the shot, bled for a few more days (leftover blood) but no complications. I had an apt every week until I was on the clear.

Thanks for the question! Usually its given the latest at 32 weeks. Occasionally a doctor may give it at 34 weeks. I would call your doctor immediately to ask. When a mother does not receive the shot during her pregnancy, the hospital will take extra precautions to monitor the baby. They will most likely draw some blood at birth and frequently evaluate the baby for jaundice. If your baby is positive and your are negative, you will also receive the RhoGAM shot after birth to prevent complications with future pregnancies.
