I had this when I was 8 years old. I started getting spots on my body, and I was diagnosed with rota virus. They said that it's low, so it's not life threatening and it was also contagious. I stayed in the hospital for 3 days, and ate food without any flavor. It was before the school started, it's probably because of the rubbish in the water on the beach I accidentally swallowed. Now I'm 12 and I hope this doesn't happen to anybody else.

I had rotavirus at age 7 and became so dehydrated that I couldn’t even walk. My poor dad was completely unaware of how serious my condition was and carried me into my regular pediatrician’s office. The dr pretty much took one look at me and ran out in the hall to call an ambulance. I was transferred to the hospital and spent 48 hours in the ICU on IV fluids and some nasal tube to stop me from vomiting. They ran test after test on me even though we kind of knew I had a stomach virus because my sister was sick with the same symptoms a week prior. I was then transferred to a regular room for 2 days before finally being discharged.

I have it right now and I'm in the hospital. I also have samonella at the same time + I was dehydrated. Its my 5th day in the hospital and I'm leaving tommorow. I had my blood taken to the test 4 times (3 times at once) and they put medicine right into my vains with (a thing that the put into your arm and it has a long straw I don't know how its called). I was suffering from pain and the hospital helped a lot. If I didn't go there who knows what situation I would be today. Probably in pain.

I had Rotavirus three times on my life. When I was 14 months, I almost died on it. When I was 8 years old, I was in the hospital and the almost 6 months ago I had Rotavirus again, I was 15 years old and I was in the hospital, too. Rotavirus is so dangerous. Please, don:t underestimate Rotavirus symptoms.

I think my 1 year old son has this now. He keeps pooping every hour. It’s runny & ruining all of his pants. It stinks so much worse than regular poop to where it makes me nauseous. Hes not vomiting anymore thank God. Hes had it for about 3 days & caught it from daycare. I hate seeing him like this.

Do they have this vaccine for adults? I am severely chronically ill, so when I get sick I get SICK. I am currently dealing with rota virus and have to take hospital grade medication that stops me from vomiting because it becomes too painful and lasts for up to a week. Not to mention I have to take many medications and can't do anything to manage my conditions if I cant keep them down.

My child just got over Rotavirus. It took a long time and unfortunately she was very sick on her first birthday. She got vaccinate against it, but apparently that didn't help. And now I have it.... Horrible.

Kellen Michael I can't I'm not joking. I'm allergic and have never gotten my vaccines after when I was 4 and the shots caused parts of my arms and legs to swell up a few hours after getting the vaccines.

@Noob_ Type swelling can be a normal side effect but if its swells too much like it did for me (over doubled sized) and causes rash or somethin then its likely youre allergic to something in the vaccine. Im allergic to penicillin and amoxicillin

Ugh we hate the rotavirus! First my daughter gets, she throwing up severely and lots of diarrhea. Then she gives it to my son and he was severely vomiting as well with horrible diarrhea, we had to take him to the hospital for an IV because he was dehydrated! The weird part is both my kids were only vomiting for 24 hours but there diarrhea lasted 2 days after the vomiting.

RotaTeq consists of 5 reassorted bovine rotaviruses containing the VP4 and VP7 of 5 different human rotaviruses. (live attenuated) RotaRix vaccine is a single strain live attenuated human rotavirus.
