I got sick right before Christmas. Im 79 and have had asthma since in my 20s. I had a barking severe cough for two months. My asthma was terrible, and i had during this, a fever for over a week or two. Last week, because i am still coughing, and let me add, tons of phlegm, although finally getting better, this is now march, i had an antibody test, and yes it came up with RSV, with a lung infection. So, when drs describe RSV IN seniors, i wish they would let you know, you can have a violent barking cough for weeks and weeks, and lots of phlegm. Especially if you have asthma. I was so sick with the cougjing, and fever, and felt so run down. Its been a hell of a few months. I just thought i would let anyone who has had this terrible virus, realize that it may take weeks to get over.

I’m only 49, but with asthma, and I’ve been drowning in mucus and coughing like crazy due to RSV for 6 weeks now, and no end in sight! RSV sucks. All I seem to be able to do is cough and try to sleep between coughing fits.

Useful video. I caught this a couple of Christmases ago and symptoms were like a severe flu; I was knocked out for three or four days in bed with fairly significant symptoms worse than an average flu, but my mum was unwell with it for a couple of weeks.
