Rub 'n Buff is a metallic wax finish that can be used on wood, metal, plastic, and many other surfaces. I have used it in many of my DIY projects, including on edges of furniture, lamps, stencils, etc. In today's video, I'll demo Rub 'n Buff and you'll get to see how well it works on several surfaces, includes high heels shoes, wood, and as a decorative edge.
Colors: Gold Leaf, Spanish Copper, Patina, Antique Gold, Silver Leaf, Ruby, Grecian Gold, Autumn Gold, European Gold, Antique White, Ebony, Pewter.
(Rub 'n Buff is made from imported carnauba waxes, fine metallic powders, and select pigments).

Rub n buff, best stuff ever! A little goes a long way with such a small tube. Working on a vintage metal toolbox with drawers and using the silver shades as a highlighter for the drawer pulls! Glad you sampled the other shades as I wasn’t sure what the true color would be so thank you!

I saw Rub n Buff and had to stop in. Those of us in the SteamPunk and CosPlay world have been using this stuff for years to get realistic results for metallics while only using plastic or foam. I usually apply it over a finely sanded black primer, works like magic. Just make sure to polish all of the excess compound off to bring out the real luster of this amazing product.

So the European Gold is sort of champagne gold and the Grecian a darker, antique-ish one. I really am convinced. I have simple, inexpensive grey-painted steel bookshelves from IKEA the frame of which I'm going to turn into something awesome with this product. I suppose when applying over metal, it would be a good idea to let it dry completely before buffing.

Fantastic video - I’ve just bought some antique gold rub and buff. And I am excited about what I can make with it. But for the old original brass hard wear, I think that would have com up a lot nicer if you had cleaned off some of the dark patina with something like Bar Keepers friend - it would have looked amazing restored back to the original brass.

Thanks for showing this very informative video! I just ordered a tube of Grecian Gold to use on my builder basic brass (?) chandelier. I will change the lamp shades to something tapered and modern and hope for the best. I think I can use this product on my ladder, w/o taking down lamp, even on the chain. I want Circa Lighting, Aerin Lauder's Montreuil Chandelier, but this tube of faux is in my budget! 0 UPDATE!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This product did not work on brass lamp at all. I tried it on wood, and it is beautiful, but because the brass is not porous it did not adhere, it just looked horrible. I did the exact same thing as in the video. I tested on an old brass lamp from work that matches the finish of my chandelier - just like the one in the video.

First time watching your channel as it came up in a search for Rub n Buff. It would have been helpful to see all the golds swatched since there were so many of them and it's hard to tell the difference in coloration; and, when the tubes were scanned at the end they were upside down so not possible to read the gold colors to at least compare the tube colors. Many of us would not buy the large sampler because it's expensive and we wouldn't use all the colors so a better color swatching would have been appreciated.
