That's not the case when you don't simultaneously eliminate nearly all other speech. Which the Western world does in it's borders. The Russians had it in Sowjet times and leaned from it, we on the other hand learned that we are the winners and our propaganda was better, not that the Sowjets were better at propaganda and lost because of it. When the Sowjets infrastructure crumbled, the leaders thought about how everything was a shining example of their greatness. When the curtains (not the iron curtains, before the collapse) were pulled back the reality was revealed. In Germany the Kanzler talks about how great the people have it and that the people live in the best Germany ever. The US president talks about US exceptionalism... And when the curtains are pulled back the people see dead on arrival infrastructure projects to feed the corruption of those involved, rising cost of living, homeless in the US, littered streets, shaks being sold for millions and collapsing bridges. Dead shopping miles and inner cities, but companies talking about AI and virtual reality and the next industrial revolution.

Overall, nice interview. The journalist, for once, despite asking questions the way the West see them, was polite and never attacking. The ambassador, well-mannered, and extremely calm (I liked that), was also very well-educated and cautious in his answers. When asked "Who do you prefer to win the elections in the US/UK?", to both answers he made it clear he did not want to answer because his comment would be taken as interfering. Smart response. Regarding Navalny? We are waiting to understand why Julian Assange, Gonzalo Lira, and Edward Snowden, are prosecuted. Why all of Zelensky's opposition in Ukraine have disappeared? Why Biden's son was in Ukraine doing business with Zelensky before the war. And many more.

Andrei Kelin is a awesome Ambassador, I like and respect him very much. Putin is also actually very understandable as a politician, with a good way of expressing himself and comprehensive knowledge, not a stupid person like we have in Germany right now, we almost only have stupid puppets in power right now a shame and blame for our country. So I don't understand why people can't come to an agreement with Russia - they are respectable people with understandable views and they are also open for some compromises.
