I encourage all of you to read dance history books to expand your technique knowledge of all forms of dance. I had to do the same. This technique is taught a lot in many different colleges / universities. It was there in my college and then you will understand things like safety foot in this very beautiful technique.

Beautiful example of weight shifts at all levels and all directions. The repeated use of direct falls on to the foreleg is not typical to anything I learned from Irmgard Bartenieff though. I'd be curious to learn how safe they feel to the dancers. Perhaps the clear use of core makes the fall light enough to be non-impact. I did see gorgeous sequencing that lightens the impact and good strength to catch the fully body's weight in the upper body too.

As a dancer I don't see the safety in this release. It's much to active to release. I don't get it.
