And yes, it is rare that a client is not suitable for SMP, but when the hairloss is too extreme and the client wishes to keep their hair longer then we should suggest other alternatives. Adding to that, density treatment will always work better when there is a color contrast between the skin color and hair color (dark hair and light skin is ideal) as it is that contrast that we are camouflaging.

Problem with SMP you dont want to use any shampoo on your head when you do it for at least 6months they tell you 1 month, but it will fade very fast. Even when you start using shampoo i would use very little or maybe something very soft organic.

Dear Dr. Jayaprakash, I have questions on a subject which I think many people would like to know and I haven't seen in any of your videos. Is it possible to extract hair graphs (with double, triple, quadruple hairs.. etc) using FUE technique, from BODY AREAS (such as beard, chest, abdomen..etc) to be transplanted in areas of the scalp which present gaps or need more density and coverage? Can these hairs be "blended in" with the other hairs of the scalp in a way that they become less noticeable? Also if you could please explain WHEN (individual's situation) and WHERE (areas of the scalp) is possible and adequate to transplant hairs from other body parts into the scalp? Will those hairs overtime start to behave like the natural hairs from the head? and it would be possible to grow longer? And lastly, can this be a way to save hairs from the head's donor area for a future hair transplant?? Thank you very much and a video response would be really appreciated.

1.5 mm is a little much to begin with imo, especially if it's to help something like Minoxidil penetrate your scalp. In regards to your beard, your facial skin is a lot softer so 0.25 if its in conjunction with something like minox (2 times a week, no minox 24h after dermarolling) or 0.5 mm (1 time a/w) without.

I am curious why the scalp micro pigmentation are always short stubble like dots? I do understand why they make these dots (for almost shaved people so they look like scalp stubbles). However, what I am actually wondering about is why they do not create slightly longer hair looking tattoos, in order to fill the sides so more extraction can be done than otherwise would be possible? Also, I am curious if there are people who transplant a lot of hair to the top of their head and then take a haircut where the sides are shaved off (and then maybe scalp micro pigmentation to make it look like the side have stubble) A lot of people eventually just shave their whole head, while they might prefer hair on top but not sides, if they had the choice (seems better than only hair on sides?) Get it lasered off. They've either used the wrong pigment or gone too deep, maybe both.

I agree.. you have to be wise when using this. If you're completely bald then SMP is fine. If you suffer from mild thinning then it's also fine as it'll give the illusion of increased density. However, if you've receded heavily or have lost a lot of ground within the crown/ midsection then it'll look blatant and obvious. Just imagine the wind blowing your hair. It'll look totally unnatural unless you're willing to shave your head every other day to blend it out. Most importantly unless you're on proper hair loss medication you'll continue to lose hair so SMP is only a temporary cosmetic solution.

Great explanation here as there’s definitely more to a good SMP treatment than laying down a few dots! We offer premium SMP in Birmingham Uk and have had to fix a lot of bad work. Sometimes, the only option is laser removal

It's probably temporary. If it bothers you, switch to a finasteride dose of 0.25mg or 0.5mg.
