Finally something worth watching and listening! Your videos and information differs a lot from what we are used to hear about Scandinavian design, I mean in the world, in general. I don't know how did they do that but what immediately comes to my mind is Ikea! There is much more to find out, thanks for your input! And focus more on the objects, not just names, or tell more about what was introduced by these people, some forms, materials, approaches, show more about the furniture items and break this ikea stereotype!

You can tell this is the best authentic Scandi content, as they had the miniatures of the furniture which was so neat!!

We have many pieces from Ikea that we have had for 20 years. Love them! Thank you for this great video!

Such interesting insights, although in india we are heavy on the details with our traditional and expensive furniture. Simple and clean design nowadays suite very well in the urban areas. So naturally Scandinavian design is very appealing

What I've learnt from this and many of your other excellent videos is that, there is no such thing as Scandinavian design, there are Scandinavian designers or to put it another way, designers from Scandinavia. There are so many crossovers and influences.
@ScandinavianDesign101 Жыл бұрын
That’s so true! Scandinavian Design is so much more than pinewood and simplistic minimalism.

Why did the three societies of Scandinavia be so willing to embrace such a boldly different look in home furnishings?

Not at all boring. Might be old news to you, but a completely new world for those not from Scandinavia.

Loved the video!! I’m a brazilian furniture designer very influenced by scandinavian design and it’s very hard to explain it with deeper meaning. I think around the world (at least in Brazil) in became “in fashion” a couple of years ago but people didn’t quite get it, they mix it with industrial lights and luxurious objects- what makes me a bit nuts. Haha
@ScandinavianDesign1014 жыл бұрын
Thanks! We’re so glad you liked the video! Understand what you mean. Scandinavian design is often quite misunderstood. The political dimension is forgotten and most people just think of expensive furniture and white walls. 😁 And yes, Scandinavia is just Sweden, Denmark & Norway but the Nordic countries are also Finland & Iceland. But the common Swede don’t know the difference.

WHY do you have subtitles in English if you ARE speaking English? I totally understand what you are saying, loud and clear...Please, don't use American slang language...I'm trying to take the information you telling us seriously. Whatever you do, don't be like us, OK...we have tremendous ugly problems in this country & THAT'S real sick....
