God bless you! My oldest son has schizophrenia. He refuses to accept his diagnosis and stops taking his meds everytime he gets discharged from the hospital. Watching videos like this helps me to better understand what he is going through. Thank you!

That is ultimately what lead to me getting better is the choice to get better, and be part of the world. The decision to help yourself through it is a tough one to make, because everything is so negative it is tough to want to take part in it.

Holy moly. The stars thing. They do move. And birds 😮 Listening to your videos seems like i experience just the positive symptoms…because I do relate a lot to those. The negative is only internal thoughts. Honestly you’re doing incredible work with this channel. I had a huge misconception about the side effects of the medication due to someone close to me being medicated in childhood. Because of this it’s prevented me from ever considering getting help or at least finding out if I need it. It really changed him beyond recognition with so many debilitating side effects. I apologise for being so direct so please don’t take offence but this definitely doesn’t seem to be the case for you.

For me, I have psychosis NOS and I experience a lot of the same things too. Specifically, one of the first symptoms I’ve experienced was feeling like I could control the wind.

I feel the weather tells me things same with birds, not so much other animals but overall I try to communicate to god like all the time. I think people can read my mind through god, I try to ignore it but it’s the most scary. I’ve tried to reintegrate by working but I failed. I don’t have many voices maybe once a day or a couple of times a week but yeh people I know or have become a custom to the voice, I sleep a lot in contrast to you, my medication helps but other than that I don’t get support professionally, that is a bummer as I want to talk about it a lot. Thank you for sharing your experience and for the nice comment. I hope you can find a good therapist that can partner with you in your journey. There is a video where I listed out some resources for residents in my state. Maybe see if such things are offered in yours as well. I had a therapist while I was designated SMI and it was covered.

Hey sorry to hear your brother is going through the same thing. For me, part of me still doesn't believe its delusions, because they are so real. The point at which I realized I had to treat this like delusions is when I decided that I was going to live instead of hurting myself. Since then it's been a struggle trying to push this stuff away, and overtime I have gotten better at this through things I learned in therapy, and medication. It's good your brother is on medication and it helps, but at the end of the day you have to choose to fight it and live. That happened for me slowly over time. took me about 2 years to get back to a place to be able to work, and I made continued progress towards being independent. Thank you for you sharing. I have a friend who also had the same symptoms 2years ago - after he did lsd. He was 1 month at the Psychiatry on mediacation. He recovers by his family and is now full recover. He took Risperidon 4mg i think - My Question are you taking Medicin? Because they helping short term but comes with side effects long term.

I am on medication yes. I was told by a doctor that medication makes 1/3 of people recover and they don’t have to take it anymore, 1/3 it helps but have to keep taking meds (I am in this group), and 1/3 the medication doesn’t help. The side effects are generally short term on new generation of meds which I’m on. Some persist and I take side effect medication for it. Thanks for the comment!

For sleeping, would it help to wear earplugs? Then if you hear a voice or someone shouting at you, if you hear it clearly you know it’s an hallucination.

I was in a place where I felt like there was nothing that could help me overcome my mental illness. I have been in psych wards multiple times. They are tough but its intervention when you are having symptoms. They put you on a path to recovery, then there is outpatient help to continue your recovery. Not sure where you are but I would look up SMI clinics in your area if there are any. Generally there are case managers and therapy session you can utilize along with medication management. I didn't like life when i was hopeless as well, so i understand. But to fight to stay alive and be able to overcome fears and still offer love to others. That is why I live to give my family love and support. It gets easier the longer you work on treating your schizophrenia. Hope your life gets easier brother Stay strong and keep fighting to love and live.

My friend got psychosis from Ayahuasca, I'd avoid it.
