Septoplasty is a common procedure to straighten the Septum in the nose. Why would you need it? Find out here from Dr Huwbert Low, ENT Surgeon at Hunters Hill Private Hospital.

here's a few tips you can try use a saline rinse - this is a great way to keep your nose clear cook with chili peppers - these have capsaicin which can shrink nose polyps naturally. Use Tea Tree Oil - dilute it and swab the polyps with it - this can shrink polpys and reduce symptoms. Eat foods with high levels of anioxidants - broccoli, citrus fruits etc - these help shrink nose polyps . (I learned these and the reasons they work on jits polyp plan website )

Okay, I am going to copy and paste this - I would say a positive comment - to a couple of related videos the same as others are copy-pasting the comments about ENS as I feel like only negative stories are being spread. Before my radio-frequency inferior turbinate reduction, I was freaking out about it because I would read all the negative comments about the ENS and how these people are suicidal. Well, I was aware of this risk, but still, I went through this, because the blockage of my nose, especially the left nostril, was so bad, that I had headaches, dry eyes, could not have a good night's sleep..., basically I had constantly less energy and did not use my full physical and psychical potential. Yes, it can affect your life tremendously when you are not able to breathe freely for a long time. Anyways, before the surgery, I visited more doctors to have more information about the risks and potential ENS and they said that they could not disprove this, but they also said that in my case the risk was minimal as I would have only local anesthesia and the least invading technique. So here I am writing this comment, I am exactly one day after the inferior turbinate reduction done with the radiofrequency method, in the end, only the left nostril as my right side was okay. The procedure was not comfortable but for me less painful than visiting a dentist. I felt pressure, vibration, resonance, and heat, but it was manageable. After I got home, I removed the nose tampon from the left nostril and I knew right away that I was breathing through, but I did not feel the air going through the left nostril because it was still anesthetized from the tampon. There was a bit of blood, mucous, but after about the next two hours, I realized how much-left nose was blocked. I was finally breathing and I felt it, the air and you cannot imagine such relief. The nostril is still pretty sensitive though, so you must listen to what the doctor says, like no much blowing your nose for first days, no extreme temperature changes (no hot shower...), no high physical activity the first week, etc. This is my experience. It ended up well and I want to encourage you, that if you suffer a lot, it is probably worth taking the risk. My advice: before your surgery, make sure the doctor is experienced with this and talk to him about the complications he had experience with other patients. Talk to him that you would like to have the least invading method performed to minimize the risks. And those who are interested, the RF machine used for my surgery was The CURIS® 4 MHz radiofrequency generator, you can google it if you want. Wish you good health and a lot of strength to the individuals whose surgery did not end up as expected.

@@sudipkarki8277 trimming the excess turbinates at the same time septoplasty surgery because my nasal has severe deviation during that time then the turbinates contributed to obstruct the airflow because it narrows the airway. after removal of turbinates if try to look at the mirror you can see incisions then you will notice a wide open nose airways without any obstruction. if you wanted to go for septoplasty i suggest do it both with turbinates reduction to improve more than a 100% airflow than before.

So I JUST had this surgery 3 days ago…I still have the internal splints inside my nostrils but I got REALLY swollen and congested after the surgery to the point where sleeping became impossible…especially bc I’m a side/stomach sleeper. I called the doc and they said I could in fact use ibuprofen if I wasn’t bleeding any longer, that was a total game changer. Now I can’t feel somewhat normal without it bc it reduces the swelling by I’d say half at least. The good news is I already feel like my nose is a lot more open than before, mind you I still have the splints in too so we’ll see how it feels when I get them taken out in a few more days. I recommend getting nasal saline spray for the first few days with qtips to clear out all the crusty gunk in there…the biggest take away from my experience so far is I guess I was expecting more traditional pain that pain killers would take care of but instead I experienced severe congestion and swelling, which turned out to be more discomforting, especially for sleeping.

I am like most of you guys my nose is broken, I literally am congested on both sides 90% all the time, its miserable and makes life suck. Issue I have is that ENS is real, we don't know who gets it or why. Its either nerve damage or airflow change and either you are lucky and don't get that and your one of few who does, then what? It is really sad that in 2022 we don't have some sort of option to open up the nose but not stress on getting a life altering ENS later that could result in misery, its horrible stuff from what I read. What confuses me is that turbinates swell from inflammation due to either allergy or irritation? So why would you not address the ROOT cause thus allowing healing to start and the end result normal size organs again. I have researched it and most if not all turbinates can resume normal size if allowed to heal. So why are Dr. removing parts of them when they can heal? It is their job to swell, this is the issue its the old cut out and move on when we need them to actually be there to swell and act like they are designed otherwise we get ENS problems. We need major money to invest in Sinus to improve ideas these methods are dated and not current with modern thought.

I was tested for allergies twice. BOTH times it said I was not allergic to milk. But if I take one drink, my turbinates swell up terribly. Do some reading on turbinates. It may not be allergies---turbinates can react to a LOT of things. The doc gave me a pamphlet that aid turbinates swell due to spicy foods, stress, hormones--and this was 20 years ago. Even sugar has been linked to sinus inflammation. Look at your diet and be honest with yourself---do you ever think about all the things they add to food? You don't think those things could cause reactions in your sinuses? If your foot was swollen up like your turbinates, would you want to cut part of it off---or find out WHY it's swollen?

Abnormal facial growth from long-term mouth breathing? How and why does that happen?
@IshanArts3 жыл бұрын
Look it up.. its well known whathappens when you breathe through your mouth all the time. Your jaw gets sort of pushed back and it makes your sideprofile look pretty silly

Wanna risk having a permanent dry nose? Then go for it. Don't forget to order the extra turbinates resections with supersized nasal cavities.

The turbinates are an important organ. If your leg was causing you problems that were treatable a doctor wouldn’t just cut it off. Yet this is what ENTs want to do to your turbinates. Use natural methods, even acupuncture if necessary to help your breathing without surgery. Elimination diet also helps open your nose. ENS that can result is 100% not worth it. Destroying a healthy organ that is simply irritated from something in your diet or environment is butchery and should be illegal, and these doctors should be charged with inflicting torture.

Notice how all of these turbinates reduction videos have comments turned off.... There's a reason why so many people commit suicide after having this surgery done. I haven't taken a satisfying breath in 8 years, so think twice before doing this.
