The recent shootings at Oak Creek Sikh Temple Wisconsin USA, shocked us all. This video will help explain Who are the Sikhs? What is Sikhism? Is Sikhi a religion? Is Sikhism a way of life? Is Sikhi a philosophy? What different ways can we describe Sikhi? What is Sikhism? What do Sikhs believe? Is Sikhi a way to become one with God? Why be a Sikh?

Thank you so much for your videos! I was called through meditation to go to a Gurdwara last week, and my life has changed and improved tremendously. It was my first time ever at a Gurdwara, and I really felt like I was being called home. When I arrived I felt nourished on a level I hadn't been in a very long time, and I have been studying Sikhi and reading the Sacred Nitnam nonstop. Sikhs are some of the most open minded loving people I have ever met. It feels so good to be in the presence of these teachings. The Nitnam is so beautiful, simple, and logical. This religion is all goodness. I don't think I'm ready to take Amrit or anything, but I feel like all of the values I've held are already contained within Sikhi. It feels amazing to know there are Sikhs on the planet and that I can walk into a place of worship with others who extend open non-judgmental arms. I feel like I've reunited with an old family. Your videos just add to my excitement for learning. You speak so well. :)

Sikhism seems to be a great religion. It skips over the pointless bullshit that traps many people and instead focuses on compassion, tolerance and open-mindedness. To me Sikhism seems to be the most reasonable and honorable religion.

Hi there, yes, its very easy to get the Sikh Scriptures online and as an ebook for free. You can check the download section of "Sikhnet" or "Sikh Missionary Society" and also see the website "Sikhitothemax", just type those into google. There are also a number of free apps that let you read Gurbani (sikh scriptures), see "Gurbani nirvaan" "Search Gurbani" and "Sundar Gutka". You should also go through our playlist, "Japji Sahib English Katha" which explain the 1st prayer of Sikhs. Thanks.

Hi Jonny, your views are very commonly held. In one way, Sikhs dont believe in religion per se, but the the One Force is something that we can experience through meditation. The experience is the proof of Gods existence. There is a science to meditation as you can see from the two videos I recommended. In terms of a reason to try this science out...for a Sikh, the Gurus are the reason. If you watch the video on "are the Gurus perfect?" Being so amazing, we honour their teachings by meditating

I think that limiting yourself to one religion is to limit your enlightenment. We should study all faiths and take from them the knowledge that speaks to us the most, and the teachings that are most relevant to yourself as an individual. So, thank you for your talks on Sihkism and it's values. Very thought provoking.

The Skooma Cat I think we become disconnected through greed, lust (lust within marriage for your wife is ok though I think) and ego etc. This blockage disconnects us. I’m not an expert but have learnt this from watching BoS videos. God bless

Thanks Kandiisuicide (interesting name!). Obviously I'm biased but yeah, Sikhi is very cool indeed. I feel its better to be agnostic (I dont know if there is a God) rather than athiest (I know for sure there is no God). Spirituality WORKS and can connect us to our Source. Watch our video on "What is the point of life", "Call God on my iphone" and "Fitness analogy" to see the science of connection, its very logical and it works. Join us on Facebook too :)

When merging back can the soul still maintain individuality, (without ego) ?
@Harmitron
@Harmitron 9 жыл бұрын
The ego is the source of individuality, I've understood it better by replacing the word 'merging' with 'realizing'. The ego cannot completely merge back into the oneness while still being a part of the 'material world'. There are moments of samadhi that can be reached where the ego falls away completely and you experience infinity but eventually the ego will come back. It has to, we cannot experience time without the ego. The ego can realize a concept of timelessness and infinity but cannot ever completely merge into it. Even the enlightened realized beings that seem to be existing in timelessness while on earth must have some sense of ego in order to navigate this reality(IE. The Gurus, Buddha, Neem Karoli Baba etc etc.) They must have had an 'ego' too but just a much much smaller one than the majority. What happens to the ego after death though? That I don't know but maybe there is mergence there, according to Guru Nanak there is if you can chip away your ego to be as minimal as possible. I don't know if this helped you but writing it out does help me reinforce the understanding I've experienced thus far.

I like everything that is said about sikhism. Sikhism is the only faith of true equality. Only one flaw to the faith ... I could never become sikh, because I am bald, and find facial hair totally uncomfortable. Other than that ... I support the faith, and cause. All Humanity can benefit.

Karl, the truth that Guru Sahib talks about doesn't belong to any one religion. The truth is the truth, and the truth shall set you free, regardless of which religion you belong to. Nothing but the truth will. Religions were founded on the same universal truth. Religion can be thought of like a finger pointing at the moon. Some people forget about the moon and start worshipping the finger.

My friend, Sikhs have no caste. Sikhism rejects caste or any forms of discrimination. If you do see the caste mentality existence within the Sikh community, it is only through our human ignorance & ego. Jāṇhu joṯ na pūcẖẖahu jāṯī āgai jāṯ na he. ||1|| rahā▫o. Recognize the Lord's Light within all, and do not consider social class or status; there are no classes or castes in the world hereafter. ||1||Pause|| Waheguru Rakha

Singh Sahab Khalsa veer ji ask him that on one hand he is praising waheguru by doing path and on other hand he is fighting with nature or rules created by waheguru.and probably many man shave because their idea or philosophy of beauty is women . So most man want to look like them. But at gurus path there is no significance of physical beauty there is only pure psycological and eternal beauty of your mind.

Religions are ... all the same. What is the difference between a Christian, Muslim or a Sikh? The followers (99% of them) are born in that religion and grow up believing what they are told. and to each their religion is the ONLY "true" religion. I think it is very narrow minded and we human beings can only be one when we stop finding reasons to divide. biggest dividing factor being Religion. still my opinion is.. respect all religions. Adopt none.. cheers.

Sounds a lot like Christianity. Jehovah being the one God Jesus being the Guru who has become one with God and the followers of Jesus are the followers of the Guru. Unfortunately his message of love has been twisted by many people through out history. The Guru also sounds like the concept of the Bodhisatvah of Hinduism and Buddhism.
