I love learning about Sikhism. Everything about Sikh is just breath-taking. I recently watched a BBC Documentary about the Turban and how the British Indians fought for their right and proving why their Turban isn't just a clothing but part of their body, part of who they are. Man, I cant explain how much 39 mins of that video touched me, My view on the Sikh community grew more, I saw them more than just a peaceful relegion but a strong, independent,unique , and welcoming group. The passion they have for their community is unexplainable. I'm so happy I learned so much more about this amazing relegion.

Brother firstly, I don't think hindu names resemble sikh names as Sikh names are unisex and as far as I know hindu names are based on the gender(which is not wrong but different). Secondly, Basic principles of both religions are poles apart. Hinduism believes in different of gods (for example:- Ram ji, hanuman ji, vishnu ji). However Sikhi believes that there is only ONE god. There are various more things that proves that Sikhi is not a part of hinduism. Although the founder of Sikhi (Guru Nanak Dev Ji) was born into a hindu family. that does not mean that Sikhi is born from Hinduism. Peace Brother

True Sikhs do not stand for injustice. I have always been thankful for this. Its beautiful. It is very real. We all should follow this. I am very honored to have Sikh neighbors. I live in a somewhat small town in NC. This family has given us true kindness. True welcoming as a community. We have been neighbors for years now. Its wonderful having such positivity in our town. It is basic and simple but it is precious. I am thankful for my neighbors. All of them. There are still good people in this world. Much respect and thank you for your videos.

I believe in one creator (the timeless) and accept 10 gurus and Guru granth sahib ji as my guru. Although I still don't have the courage to keep hair and keep 5K's but I believe in sikhi. I hope Guru will bless me and I will become complete sikh after keeping hair and after amrit ceremony.

Watch our video on "What type of Sikh are you?" and "What is a Sikh?". There is no formal conversion process, if you start to live as a Sikh, follow it and put Guru's word above all others, then you are a Sikh. To progress towards Khalsa, you would have to wear a turban and not cut any of your hair. Even if you are bald, its no problem, in fact no one will ever know if you are bald under the turban ;) I would suggest starting by learning more, especially our Japji Sahib English Katha playlist

From personal experience I'm glad you do stand out because when there was an incident and I was outnumbered it was a Sikh who saved my life. Literally. So thank you. And yes it was a 7/11 parking lot late at night. Just the right place for him to be for me to still be here. He's still here too. I think he owns one or two stores now. (or at least is managing them) So take some comedic stereotyping from my experience but don't for a second think these people don't live up to their own standards. From what I've seen they're about the only ones who do. To date I've not met an Indian or Sikh that I didn't like. (Punjab is a very beautiful area but your curries are a bit bland. Sorry but I like heat. Not from the sun, just in the food they still taste great however. )

@harkeeratdate2015

Tyler Burns. If Sikhs are ashamed of their culture or faith then by all means they can do as they please, but, the issue then would be concerning themselves, the fact that they are ashamed of themselves is a big problem and they would need to go and see a psychiatrist.
@tylerburns5924
@tylerburns5924 7 жыл бұрын
Harkeerat Date But a turban is a turban right? What's the difference if a Sikh where's a turban from India or or Afghanistan? Why does it matter? If a Sikh likes the turban style of another culture it shouldn't have to mean he is embarrassed of his own faith and culture. It could just mean he believes a turban is a turban... It serves the same purpose. It wraps around the head and covers the hair. To say that if a Sikh wears a different style of turban he must be ashamed of who he is kinda sounds a little mest up. There isn't much difference between turban styles and it shouldn't mean anything if someone wears a different type of turban
@harkeeratdate2015

Tyler Burns. A Sikh can be spotted from a mile away by his turban - like a police officer. And thats the point.
@tylerburns5924
@tylerburns5924 7 жыл бұрын
Harkeerat Date I don't know... A mile is pretty far. I think at those distances Sikhs probably look just like Muslims. At that point a turban is a turban. If a Sikh is going to help a sikh is going to help. Most people don't even know that Sikhs are like this. Most people can't tell the difference between a Sikh turban and a Muslim turban anyway. Hell! People in my country have murdered Sikhs thinking they were Muslims. I don't think to be a Sikh you must wear a specific type of turban. I think a turban is a turban. A piece of fabric that covers the hair and head. That's all it is.

thanks, the normal greeting is "Sat Sri Akaal" (True is the Great Immortal God) but also the Khalsa greet each other with "Vaheguru ji ka Khalsa, Vaheguru ji ki Fateh" (The Khalsa belongs to Vaheguru, All successes and Victories belong to vaheguru),

Explain to me this, at 1600 approx., you speak of salvation. Isn't salvation a Abrahamic religious belief? Secondly, is it true the Sikhs believe in reincarnation? Lastly, how can you be part of the one while separating others out as stated in 8:07? Namaste Satnam.

the hair that you have is significant, but having more or less isn't significant. Its about accepting Vaheguru's hukam with the hair. In any case, as made clear in the video, keeping your hair does NOT guarantee salvation or all the animals would be getting it. Please watch our video on "What is Life? Why Guru?"

Salams from Ohio....I just have a question about women Sikhs where is their modesty? I have only seen on youtube a couple of them who obey and doesn't remove their hair etc. But I see videos of Sikh women drinking and dressed as an average person without any ties to thier religion. Unfortunately in Islam this problem is also shared but I can see more often a Islamic identity. I dont mean to offend if I did it is because the shortcomings within myself and may God correct that. But ive watched ur videos and learned so much about your way of life. For me Islam is the best and being a Sikh is the best for you. Thank you tge info. PeAcE:)

Sikh men and women are meant to dress modestly and cover their head at all times. Neither men or women should drink or have sex before marriage. I think Sikh women are just as likely as Sikh men to either keep or break these rules depending on their level of education of Sikhi. We're trying to educate all Sikhs so they make an informed choice. Rest is in Gods hands.

i have many very close Sikh friends and i respect them a lot and can do anything for them and so do they. but i sometime feel .. but had one doubt.. why do we have these many gurus..so now 4m 1st guru to last guru we have added many more rules in ourselves. and one more question why did this guru system stop. and why do we have these many differences in sikh community like we have Namdhari,Nihanga, Nirankari..

The question you have about nirankaris,narakdhari They are not created by Guru ji Some stupid people in todays era believe Sikhism needs to be redefined ,those guys have created such partitions Also after 1984 it was agenda of government to disintegrate Sikh community
