Consumers and even some bartenders have a misconception that single-malt Scotch is not a blended whisky, but this is a myth. Single-malt scotch is a blend, but it's a very specific type of blend. In fact, nearly all whiskies on the market today are blends-bourbons, ryes, Tennessee, scotches, etc.-although in this video I'll focus on Scotch.

This is sure best clip lesson Dada, thanks. I must choose " single malt whiskey" only.Thats original . Blended means eg " peter Scotch " Indian, M I right ? Mixed with some % of original scotch .😂 Indian single malt ( grain) could be all right but others are molases added with some ℅ of single malt Indian , to add flavour n fragrance n feel original. M I right Dada ? I studied bit " whiskey encyclopedia " .😹 so I must choose indian single malt label, bit expensive.😀Thanks for lesson, knowledge, etc.😂👌

Sir, i want to ask... i have purchased Gold label reserves in 2016 on arrival from duty free shop. i have keep it as it for aging (want to age it more as much i can) i have asked one of my friend about information. he told me that if want to age any scotch/whiskey we should open it seal atleast once (so it will get farment better). sir pls suggest me *should i keep it sealed as new Or *as per friend suggested i should open it for once. (need your suggestion on this please)

@@Cocktailsindia hello, just watched all volumes of 'Mywhiskybarrel' videos from ur side. it was vary nice to learn how to aged alcohol at home. i m very positive to go forward. i want to ask, if i m desiring to add additional flavors (like cinnamon,Saffron,cloves as per my wish) can i add it upon aging process? i am very interested to get different flavours from same barrel (7days,14..21day time intervals)

Hello. If I’m understanding your comment. You’re trying to “age” your bottle by keep it in your bottle for a long time ? Whiskey is only aged when it’s in contact with a barrel. This is because the whiskey gets all its flavor and complexity from the wood. This is also why distilleries “finish” their whiskeys in different barrels to impart unique palate to it. When you open your bottle and let it in contact with air , it slowly degrades (it doesn’t mean it’s getting spoiled) in flavor and complexity. If you want to experiment this on your own. Try comparing a bottle that is 1/8 finished and has been sitting for a very long time to a new bottle. You’ll notice a slight difference. Anyways, I’d suggest unless you have a barrel just drink and enjoy your whiskey

I would like to explain what Single Malt means. The Single here is not denoting the type of malt. Both words are denoting different things. Single means it’s from a single distillery. And Malt means it’s 100% Barley. So, when you say Double Malt. That just means it’s a Blended Malt (blend from two different distilleries) Hope this helped
